Above & Beyond have released their full Group Therapy 700 set from The Gorge Amphitheatre, giving fans around the world the chance to relive one of the most memorable weekends in Anjunafamily history. Held September 11–13 in Washington State, ABGT700 brought nearly 20,000 fans together for three days of music spanning the Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep worlds.
While the weekend was built around music, Saturday ultimately became about something bigger. High winds sweeping through The Gorge forced organizers to temporarily pause the event for approximately three hours while conditions were monitored and the venue was made safe. When the show resumed, Above & Beyond took the stage in the rain, delivering a set that became one of the defining moments of the weekend.
Thousands of fans who had waited out the weather returned to the dancefloor to celebrate Group Therapy together. Now, that performance is available in full on YouTube and across DSPs as Above & Beyond – Group Therapy 700 Live from The Gorge Amphitheatre.
The set offers a look at what is next for Above & Beyond and Anjunabeats, featuring eight brand-new Above & Beyond IDs alongside new music from Oliver Smith, Genix, Grum, and AVNT. CVMRN and station2station also debuted new remixes of two Super8 & Tab classics, while the trio incorporated unreleased material, new versions, and selections from their latest album, Bigger Than All Of Us.
The emotional high point arrived during the encore, when Above & Beyond slowed the pace for the first-ever public performance of their new downtempo version of “Sun & Moon” featuring Richard Bedford. Thousands of voices joined together for one final Gorge singalong as the trio offered a new interpretation of one of the most recognizable tracks in their catalog.
The downtempo version was officially released two days later on Anjunachill, providing the first preview of the forthcoming Anjuna:Chilled 01 compilation.
The weekend began Friday with a different side of Above & Beyond. Continuing the tradition of opening milestone ABGT celebrations with a special Deep Set, the trio made a significant change this time by opening the performance to the public. More than 10,000 fans gathered at The Gorge to watch Above & Beyond debut a selection of brand-new IDs against the venue’s dramatic natural backdrop.
Nourey, Amy Wiles, and Grum b2b J Ribbon joined the Friday pre-party lineup, setting the tone for the weekend ahead. The full Above & Beyond Deep Set is now available to watch on YouTube and will also be released across DSPs soon.
Sunday brought the focus to Anjunadeep Open Air, closing the three-day celebration with performances from Ben Böhmer, Marsh, James Grant & Jody Wisternoff, HANA, Durante b2b Ezequiel Arias, Because Of Art, Leaving Laurel, and Rezident.
ABGT700 also marked Above & Beyond‘s first Group Therapy milestone celebration at The Gorge since ABGT250 in 2017. The venue has become deeply connected to the history of the band and the wider Anjunafamily, making the return particularly significant.
Over the years, Above & Beyond have taken their Group Therapy milestone celebrations to landmark venues around the world, including Madison Square Garden in New York, Alexandra Palace and Drumsheds in London, Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, and, most recently, ABGT600 in Mexico City.
But the story of ABGT700 isn’t quite over.
Because Saturday’s weather interruption cut Oliver Smith‘s set short and prevented J Ribbon and ilan Bluestone from performing, Above & Beyond and Anjunabeats will bring all three artists together for a special makeup event in London.
ABGT700.2 will take place Thursday, October 29, at 26 Leake Street underneath Waterloo Station. The intimate venue will host just 700 fans, returning Above & Beyond to the same London space where they debuted Anjunabeats Volume 17 earlier this year.
After an unforgettable weekend at The Gorge, the next chapter of ABGT700 will bring the celebration back to an intimate London setting, giving fans another opportunity to experience the artists and music that weather prevented from taking the stage in Washington.
