The longtime friends have finally released their much-loved collaboration, making their debut together on Interstellar Recordings. Originally created as a special introduction for a sunrise set at Burning Man 2025, “Desert Sunrise” has spent nearly a year living in the sets of both artists before officially becoming available to listeners worldwide on September 18.
The track’s story began with a shared history at Burning Man. In 2024, Colyn and Sainte Vie joined Innellea for a B3B, setting the stage for another collaboration the following year. While preparing for their Maxa x Mayan Warrior sunrise set at Burning Man 2025, the two producers decided to create something specifically for the moment when darkness gives way to daylight.
They debuted the finished track by opening their B2B set with it, and what started as a personal soundtrack quickly developed a life of its own. Since then, “Desert Sunrise” has become a secret weapon in both artists’ individual sets, gradually building anticipation among audiences who knew the track from those special live moments. Most recently, Colyn and Sainte Vie brought it to Tomorrowland 2026, playing the collaboration during their B2B on the Planaxis stage.
Now, the track belongs to everyone.

Musically, “Desert Sunrise” captures that transition from night into morning. A growling bass synth provides the foundation while resonant melodic themes cut through the mix, surrounded by slow-moving euphoric chords that draw from the emotional side of progressive house and melodic electronic music.
A portentous spoken vocal adds another layer, transforming the track from a simple sunrise anthem into something closer to a declaration. There is a sense of release throughout the production, reflecting the particular kind of collective emotion that can emerge after hours spent dancing outdoors as the first light appears.
That emotional focus is familiar territory for Colyn, whose trance-influenced progressive techno combines euphoric grooves with a strong sense of nostalgia. The Dutch DJ and producer has performed at Burning Man, Tomorrowland, UNVRS Ibiza, Loveland NL, Awakenings, Hï Ibiza, and OFFSonar, while releasing music through Afterlife, This Never Happened, CORE Records, and Musical Freedom. His work has also earned support from Anyma, Mind Against, Solomun, Joris Voorn, Adriatique, ARTBAT, Patrice Bäumel, and Kölsch.
Sainte Vie approaches the melodic end of electronic music from a different angle. Born in Mexico City and now based in Miami, the DJ and live artist blends melodic techno with elements of world music, creating productions built around atmosphere and emotional depth.
His catalog includes releases on Kompakt, Cercle, Stil vor Talent, Ouïe, All Points, and his own Akumandra, while his performance history includes Burning Man, Coachella, Tomorrowland, fabric London, Fusion Festival, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Space Miami, Loveland NL, Sound LA, and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Tulum Sundream Festival. He has received support from Tale Of Us, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Adriatique, Bedouin, and Oliver Koletzki, in addition to working with Tricky, Acid Pauli, and Booka Shade.
Their different backgrounds converge naturally on “Desert Sunrise,” with the track balancing Colyn’s progressive sensibilities against Sainte Vie’s atmospheric approach. The result feels purpose-built for the kind of fleeting, emotional dancefloor moments that inspired it in the first place.
The collaboration also makes a fitting home on Interstellar Recordings, the record label launched by Insomniac in 2023 alongside its broader Interstellar live events brand. Built around melodically driven electronic music, the label explores progressive house, deep house, melodic house, and techno through an immersive audiovisual aesthetic inspired by deep space.
