Above & Beyond have opened a new chapter for “Quicksand (Don’t Go),” their collaboration with longtime vocalist and songwriting partner Zoë Johnston, with a four-track remix package that takes one of the standout records from their latest album, Bigger Than All Of Us, into new corners of the trance spectrum.

Released through Anjunabeats, the package brings two brand-new interpretations from Mark Sherry and Ciaran McAuley, joining previously released remixes from Sultan + Shepard and Ben Nicky. Together, the four producers reshape the track across deeper progressive, uplifting trance, and harder tech trance territory, giving “Quicksand (Don’t Go)” a significantly different presence on the dancefloor.

Among the new versions, Mark Sherry delivers the most forceful interpretation. Known for his driving tech trance productions and high-energy sets at major events including Tomorrowland, Ultra, A State of Trance, Creamfields, and Dreamstate, Sherry has also collaborated with artists such as Armin van Buuren and Giuseppe Ottaviani.

His remix came together after hearing the original during Above & Beyond’s set at Dreamstate SoCal in November 2025.

“I was playing at the Dreamstate SoCal event in November 2025 when A&B were on,” says Mark Sherry. “‘Quicksand’ was easily the standout track of their set. It sent huge shivers down my spine. I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the release. It’s definitely a bucket-list project.”

Ciaran McAuley, meanwhile, approaches the record from a more emotional angle. A prominent figure in uplifting and vocal trance, the Irish producer has worked with Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, and Gareth Emery, developing a signature sound built around soaring melodies and vocal-driven arrangements.

“It’s been not only a dream for younger me, but I’m sure for many trance enthusiasts, to be part of what these guys have done. Big respect,” says Ciaran. “I’m truly grateful to be a part of this massive single from Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston.”

The two new remixes join contrasting takes from Ben Nicky and Sultan + Shepard. Ben Nicky pushes “Quicksand” toward a tougher, faster tech trance sound designed for peak-time sets, while Sultan + Shepard strip things back into deeper progressive territory.

That range gives the remix package its identity. Rather than simply adding four alternate versions of the same record, each producer highlights a different element of the original, from its emotional vocal foundation to its melodic depth and club-ready momentum.

“Quicksand (Don’t Go)” first made its live debut during Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 600 celebration in Mexico City. Since then, the track has become a recurring part of the trio’s live sets throughout their Bigger Than All Of Us global album tour, which reached more than 175,000 ticketed fans.

Now, with four distinct remixes available, “Quicksand (Don’t Go)” gets another life on the dancefloor—one that stretches from progressive warmth to the harder edges of modern trance.
