Self-described as a “high NRG trance cowboy,” New York-born, London-based multi-instrumentalist, DJ, singer, producer and live performer BIIANCO is opening a new chapter with “where_the_drummer_at?”, arriving August 19 via Ultra Records. The track serves as the first single from their forthcoming two-part EP project, near_sight, introducing a new creative concept centered on the tension between human expression and electronic machinery.
Few artists have approached contemporary dance music quite like BIIANCO. Known for high-energy performances, inventive live sets and viral performance clips that have accumulated millions of views, they have built a dedicated audience that regularly demands official releases of the music heard throughout their performances.
Their sound draws from acid, breakbeat, techno, neo-trance and classic rave, combining the melodic instincts of early-2000s trance with the physical intensity and experimental edge of modern underground dance music.
“where_the_drummer_at?” captures that collision in full force. Acidic synth lines slice through frenetic breakbeats and relentless percussion, while BIIANCO’s vocals provide an unmistakably human presence against the track’s increasingly mechanical production. Moving fluidly between DJing, live instrumentation, analog hardware, vocals and modular synthesis, BIIANCO blurs the traditional distinction between a club set and a live show. The release arrives during a significant period of momentum for BIIANCO. Following their selection as the cover artist for the third edition of DJ Mag, they are continuing to expand their international touring schedule with performances across Germany, France, Chile, the United States and beyond.
At the same time, BIIANCO is relaunching their GAIA club events, further establishing a platform for the experimental, high-intensity sound and culture surrounding their work.
