Once a year, an eclectic global community makes its way deep into the jungles of Tulum for an experience where ancient tradition, untamed nature and the hypnotic energy of the dancefloor converge. On January 9, 2027, Damian Lazarus’ Day Zero will return to the grounds where its mythology began, guiding attendees from the final glow of sunset through the depths of the night and into the first light of morning.
Today, Damian Lazarus has revealed the artists who will soundtrack the next chapter of the celebrated jungle gathering, bringing together an international cast of underground selectors and live performers whose sounds span house, techno, minimal, electronica and beyond.
Born in 2012 around the completion of the Mayan calendar, Day Zero emerged from the Tulum jungle with a spirit of renewal that remains central to its identity. Long before the destination became synonymous with global electronic music, the gathering established a distinctive blueprint built around the land, culture and communities surrounding it, placing Mayan ceremony alongside forward-thinking music, art and immersive production.
That original vision has since expanded beyond the Yucatán, with Day Zero venturing to Brazil and Bali in 2026. Each destination reflects the festival’s ongoing search for locations capable of becoming enduring homes or providing the backdrop for singular gatherings, while preserving the ethos first cultivated beneath the Tulum canopy.
At the center of the experience is the curatorial vision of Damian Lazarus, whose selections have long connected artists, scenes and generations from across the electronic music spectrum. His 2027 lineup continues that tradition, bringing contrasting sounds and perspectives together for a musical journey defined by discovery and unpredictability.
This year’s international billing includes Keinemusik visionary &ME, Brazilian powerhouse Vintage Culture, electronic icon Tiga, New York house legend Victor Calderone, Maccabi House co-founder Mita Gami, Mellow Circus founder Brunello and piano house favorite LP Giobbi.
The lineup reaches further into Lazarus’ expansive musical universe with Chloé Caillet, Apollonia co-founder Dan Ghenacia, revered UK digger Jane Fitz, genre-defying live instrumentalist Satori, South African house visionary Culoe De Song, German producer Robag Wruhme, Berlin favorite Mira, Swiss-French artist Deer Jade and Romanian minimal pioneers RPR Soundsystem, featuring Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu and Raresh.
True to Day Zero’s commitment to emerging talent and experimental sounds, the 2027 program also welcomes London artist Hard Antoine, Tel Aviv riser Rafael, Tulum-based multidisciplinary artist LUM and rising producer Mary Jane.
Deep in the jungle, El Teatro will once again spotlight the sounds of Mexico’s underground. The stage’s role within Day Zero dates back to the festival becoming the first international festival in Mexico to dedicate an entire stage exclusively to Mexican artists, creating an important platform for the country’s rapidly evolving electronic scene.
For 2027, El Teatro features Chihuahua electronic-funk outfit Midnight Generation, Mexican house talent KinAhau, Tijuana house and techno duo Soul of Hex and Crosstown Rebels-signed supergroup Secret Echoes (Live), featuring Metrika, Estefani Brolo and Balcazar.
The Mexican-focused program continues with dark-edged producer BadWolf, Mexico City electronic explorer Antaares, Tulum selector Jawar, live electronic artist Johnny Chief and underground selector Katana. Together, the artists represent the depth and diversity of a scene that continues to develop its own distinct musical language.
But while the dancefloor remains at the heart of Day Zero, the festival’s relationship with Tulum extends well beyond music. Through Crosstown Consciousness, Damian Lazarus and his team continue to support environmental and community initiatives throughout the surrounding region.
Those efforts include solar-powered street lighting throughout Dos Ojos, turtle conservation along the Tulum coastline, beach cleanups and the restoration of educational buildings using blocks made from sargassum.
Since 2022, Day Zero has also partnered with Mexican company PETGAS to transform plastic waste generated by the festival into biodegradable fuel used to help power onsite infrastructure. Extensive recycling systems and a strict no-single-use-plastics policy further reinforce the event’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.
The festival’s connection to Tulum is equally grounded in respect for the region’s cultural and spiritual heritage. Working closely with local Mayan leaders, Day Zero incorporates traditional ceremonies into the experience, honoring the people, traditions and land that have been part of the gathering since its earliest days.
