Max Styler is turning a decade of self-belief, experimentation, and relentless evolution into his latest release. Fresh off his Lollapalooza performance, the rising tech house powerhouse has released his new six-track EP I Don’t Think I Can Stop via his own Nu Moda imprint, delivering a project that captures the momentum of his current live sound while reflecting the journey that brought him here.
Already recognized by Billboard as “one of tech house’s buzziest names,” Styler has become one of the genre’s most influential young producers. NYLON has praised his indie-dance approach to tech house, while EDM.com recently highlighted his meteoric rise and growing influence within the global dance music landscape.
With I Don’t Think I Can Stop, Styler takes a different approach from the immediate impact of his standalone singles. The six-track project is structured like one of his extended open-to-close DJ sets, gradually developing its energy and moving through different shades of electronic music rather than relying on one continuous peak.
“My sets in general right now are getting longer and longer, and I think the music I’m making lends itself to those extended sets,” Max Styler explains. “The EP reflects a bit of the pacing and sonic identity of my live sets. When I release a single, a lot of the time they’re slap-you-in-the-face-type tunes. I Don’t Think I Can Stop shows a bit more of the journey.”
That sense of progression is embedded into the EP’s production. Styler combines organic elements with synthetic textures, pairing sub-heavy low end and tightly constructed rhythms with memorable vocal hooks. The result moves fluidly across house, disco, bass music, and more experimental electronic territory without losing the physical impact of a club record.
Among the standout moments is “Uh-Oh!,” a relentless production built around processed and looped vocals from Benni Ola. “Body Shake” takes a more direct approach, pairing a crowd-ready vocal with a heavyweight bass drop, while “Templo Disko” leans into psychedelic sound design, sending vocal effects bouncing across the stereo field.
The EP’s range reflects a creative process that unfolded over several years. Some of its foundations originated as demos written years ago, while other ideas were captured only weeks before the project was completed. Together, they form a snapshot of an artist arriving at a sound that feels increasingly authentic after years of experimentation.
That journey began in San Luis Obispo, California, where a young Styler taught himself how to DJ using a basic controller and learned music production in Ableton through YouTube tutorials. The DIY approach helped establish the work ethic that continues to define his career.
Over the past decade, Styler has navigated the unusual path of achieving viral success before fully understanding the sound he wanted to pursue. The process involved learning to trust his instincts, pushing through creative uncertainty, and continuing to make the music he genuinely wanted to hear even when walking away from it might have seemed easier.
“I Don’t Think I Can Stop” ultimately functions as both a culmination and a turning point. It reflects everything Styler has learned while pointing toward an increasingly expansive future, with the producer using his own label and live sets as platforms to explore where electronic music can go next.
Alongside the EP, Styler has released an official music video for “Love Forever,” a soulful, disco-infused track featuring U.K. dance collective Kuuda. The visual brings together clips capturing the intensity of Styler’s sold-out performances, offering a fast-moving portrait of an artist whose live presence has become central to his rise.
“Love Forever” is also featured in Styler’s upcoming BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, hosted by Pete Tong, further extending the track’s reach beyond the club and festival circuit.
The release arrives at a particularly busy point in Styler’s touring career. He is set to perform at Gallagher Square at PETCO Park in San Diego and Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, while also appearing at major festivals including Rock In Rio, Experts Only Fest in New York City, Portola Festival, Ill Points Festival, Tomorrowland, and Seismic.
Styler will also join Solomun for the +1 residency at Pacha before beginning his own residency at LIV Nightclub Las Vegas.
After a decade spent learning, experimenting, doubting, and ultimately trusting his instincts, I Don’t Think I Can Stop finds Max Styler in a particularly significant moment: no longer simply chasing momentum, but shaping it on his own terms.
And judging by the trajectory of his live career, he has little intention of slowing down.
