Darude revisits one of the defining tracks of his career with the release of the Feel The Beat remix package, marking the first official remixes of the iconic record in more than 20 years. Released through his independent imprint Vibing Out, the collection brings together longtime supporters of the original alongside a new generation of producers, reimagining the 2000 classic for today’s dancefloors while preserving the unmistakable energy that made it a global favorite.
The project came together naturally following overwhelming demand from both fans and fellow artists. During his worldwide STORM 25 Anniversary Tour last year, several of the remixes became standout moments in Darude’s live sets.
Reflecting on the release, Darude said:
“The reaction to Ilan Bluestone’s remix during my STORM 25 shows was a standout moment. Giuseppe had been playing his version for years, and I’d already seen a strong crowd response to Junkkataxi’s remix. It felt natural to bring these together officially.”
The remix package spans a wide spectrum of contemporary electronic music, featuring fresh interpretations from Ilan Bluestone, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Emily Nash, Nilsix (Ørjan Nilsen & Mark Sixma), EM11 (HE.SHE.THEY), and Junkkataxi. While each producer brings a distinct sonic identity, every remix retains the driving spirit and instantly recognizable melodies that have made “Feel The Beat” a dance music staple for more than two decades.
For Ilan Bluestone, the opportunity carried special significance.
“Feel The Beat was one of the records that inspired me to start producing trance music. Darude and I became close friends and I always told him this was the one track of his I absolutely had to remix. Because the original means so much to me, I wanted to keep its DNA intact, focusing on enhancing the groove and adding a little more drive underneath, all whilst staying true to what makes it such a timeless classic.”
Giuseppe Ottaviani echoed those sentiments, adding:
“Feel The Beat was the Darude tune I connected with the most. I used to play it on vinyl until my turntable broke. It’s a real honour to get the opportunity to remix it.”
Adding another fresh dimension to the project, the remix package features newly recorded vocals from Austrian singer, songwriter, and producer PAENDA (Gabriela Horn). Her updated vocal performance faithfully recreates the spirit of the original while giving each remix a polished, contemporary edge.
The release also continues the momentum behind Vibing Out, Darude’s independent label and creative platform dedicated to supporting forward-thinking electronic music, embracing new technologies, and providing transparent opportunities for emerging artists.
Fans have already been hearing many of the remixes during Darude’s ongoing HYPE Tour, where they’ve featured prominently in performances at EDC Las Vegas, Steelyard London, and other major events. Additional tour stops across Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and other cities this summer will continue showcasing how “Feel The Beat” has evolved for modern club audiences.
