Fresh off the release of her acclaimed debut album Torn, Cobrah continues her fearless creative evolution with the arrival of “Sign From God,” a provocative new collaboration with Grimes. Released via Atlantic Records, the highly anticipated single arrives after months of fan excitement, following its surprise live debut during Cobrah‘s electrifying Coachella performance earlier this year.
Built around hypnotic production, sultry vocals, and the unmistakable chemistry between two of pop’s most boundary-pushing artists, “Sign From God” expands Cobrah‘s genre-defying sound while pairing her provocative artistic vision with Grimes‘ futuristic sensibilities. The result is a bold, club-ready anthem that blends experimental pop with seductive electronic textures.
The collaboration follows the release of Torn, an intensely personal debut album written and creatively directed entirely by Cobrah herself. Combining cinematic production with raw emotional honesty, the record marks a significant evolution for the Swedish artist, balancing theatrical storytelling with a more vulnerable perspective.
Reflecting on the project, Cobrah shared:
“With Torn, I am way more ‘me’ as a person, the songs pull from my real life. It’s a little bit scary. I love doing characters. I love making things up and being extreme—and I’m still doing that on this album—but I’m also peeling it all off and presenting my real self as a character.”
Following a successful world tour across North America and Europe, Cobrah is preparing for another busy summer festival season. Her upcoming performances include appearances at Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Dour Festival in Belgium, Way Out West Festival in her native Sweden, and Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands. This fall, she returns to the United States for a Boiler Room performance in Washington, D.C., before joining Tove Lo for a show at Under the K Bridge in New York.
Originally from Gothenburg and emerging from Stockholm‘s underground fetish scene, Cobrah has built a reputation as one of Europe‘s most innovative pop artists. Her 2019 debut EP ICON introduced her daring creative identity and led to the launch of her independent imprint, GAGBALL Records. Breakthrough single “IDFKA” earned a Swedish Grammis nomination for Music Video of the Year, while her self-titled 2021 EP received widespread acclaim, with NME describing it as “a self-assured slab of sexy, celebratory wonky-pop.”
Her momentum continued with the release of SUCCUBUS in 2023, which earned the Swedish Grammis award for Electro/Dance of the Year. The expanded SUCCUBUS XXXTENDED project featured collaborations with Amanda Lepore, Ayesha Erotica, and VTSS, while her acclaimed Boiler Room London performance further cemented her reputation for immersive, high-concept live experiences.

Beyond music, Cobrah has established herself as a rising force across fashion and visual culture. She has attended New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week for designers including Dilara Fındıkoğlu, Dion Lee, and Matière Fécale, while her music has been featured in campaigns for Jean Paul Gaultier, Mugler, Lancôme, and Viktor & Rolf. Most recently, her single “BRAND NEW BITCH” appeared in Yorgos Lanthimos‘ acclaimed 2024 film Kinds of Kindness and its official trailer.
With “Sign From God,” Cobrah and Grimes deliver a collaboration that feels both daring and effortlessly magnetic. Arriving on the heels of Torn, the single further reinforces Cobrah‘s status as one of experimental pop’s most compelling and uncompromising voices.
