Wax Motif, Truth x Lies, AK RENNY - ‘212’

Wax Motif Drops Electrifying New York-Inspired House Anthem “212”

by Press Release

Wax Motif, the Australian-born, LA-based DJ and producer, is back with another club-ready hit. His latest single, “212,” is set to release on August 30th via Cr2 Records. Teaming up with City’s dynamic duo and bass DJ and rapper AK RENNY, Wax Motif delivers an infectious track that masterfully blends house, electro, and hip-hop. An ode to the unmistakable energy of New York City‘s iconic area code, “212” captures the gritty, vibrant pulse of the metropolis in a way only this powerhouse trio can achieve.

“212” stands out as a bold and boundary-pushing track, featuring minimalist yet powerful production centered around a relentless bassline. AK RENNY‘s sharp verses add a striking edge, making this track a must-listen on any playlist or dance floor. With its innovative approach and genre-blurring sound, “212” is set to make a lasting impact.

Speaking about the collaboration, Wax Motif shared, “Truth x Lies have been friends of ours for years. We’ve been exchanging ideas for a while, and when I heard the initial version of ‘212,’ I knew I could take it to the next level. After a few back-and-forth sessions, we created what you hear today—a track that’s designed to keep you moving in the club and give you the energy to power through your night.”

Wax Motif, whose real name is Daniel Chien, is a leading force in defining the house music sound in the United States, drawing inspiration from R&B, disco, and UK bass. Wax Motif has reached new heights with sold-out shows, including a collaboration with ZHU on “Better Recognize” and a sell-out at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. He’s also graced the stages of major festivals like Electric Forest, Lollapalooza, and Tomorrowland. Earlier this year, Wax Motif produced “BACK TO ME” featuring Freddie Gibbs for Ye x Ty Dolla $ign‘s album VULTURES, which topped charts in 80 countries within 24 hours. Recently, he headlined HARD Summer, delivering a high-energy set that coincided with the release of VULTURES 2. During the event, Ty Dolla $ign joined him on stage, performing live versions of “BACK TO ME,” “Field Trip,” and previewing their upcoming collaboration, “Make Me Better.”

Truth x Lies, the NYC-based DJ and producer duo comprised of Ryan Howard and Ian Bertles, started as local promoters spinning at their own events before focusing exclusively on house music. Their breakthrough came in 2017 when they won the Insomniac Discovery Project, leading them to shift from local gigs to full-time production. In 2023, they made a splash with their first single, “Heard About Me,” a cover of 50 Cent‘s “P.I.M.P.,” followed by “Controlled” featuring Jake Herring.

AK RENNY, a rising bass house DJ and rapper from Jacksonville, Florida, has been making a name for herself by blending rap vocals with house music in a way that’s uniquely her own. Her mission to fuse rap and house in a groundbreaking way has earned her support from artists like Dr. Fresch. With tracks released on labels like NightEnjin and GRL GANG, AK RENNY is poised for even greater things to come.

Next on the horizon, Wax Motif and Matroda are set to debut their highly anticipated “Waxtroda” collaborative project with a four-hour set at The Brooklyn Mirage this October. Alongside this milestone performance and his notable collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, Wax Motif continues his banner year with the release of “212,” a track that promises to light up dance floors worldwide.
