Teanga Teanga, the collaborative project between New York ethereal art-pop artist Pamela Sue Mann and Dublin composer-producer Paul Murphy, are set to release their haunting reinterpretation of the classic song “Around The World” on June 26, 2026.

Originally made famous by Nat King Cole in 1956, the beloved standard has been transformed into a dreamlike synth-pop and electronic meditation on memory, longing, and emotional connection. Rather than recreating the sweeping orchestral grandeur of the original recording, Teanga Teanga strip the song back to its emotional foundation and rebuild it with cinematic synths, ambient textures, spoken-word passages, lush strings, and Pamela Sue Mann’s intimate vocal performance.

The project brings together two accomplished artists with diverse creative backgrounds. Mann, whose work has been praised by legendary artist Laurie Anderson as “a masterpiece,” has collaborated with notable musicians including Suzanne Vega, Donna Lewis, and Gerry Leonard. Meanwhile, Paul Murphy, also known as PXMurphy, has built a successful career composing and producing music for television, advertising, theater, film, and his work with Electric Penguins.

According to the duo, the single emerged organically through experimental studio sessions and long-distance file-sharing. Speaking about the creative process, Murphy explained that inspiration often arrives unexpectedly, leading the pair to explore ideas together until a fully realized piece begins to take shape.

For Mann, the key to reinterpreting such an iconic song was finding a deeper emotional truth within the material.

“If you’re going to do a cover, you’ve got to have something soulful — depth, honesty, empathy,” she explained. “Otherwise you’re just doing a cover.”

That philosophy is evident throughout the new version of “Around The World.” The track blends influences from 1950s cinema, 1970s pop songwriting, ambient electronica, and avant-garde performance art, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. The result is a recording that honors the spirit of the original while establishing a completely new identity.

Reflecting on the finished track, Mann described it as “a completely different song” that somehow still retains “the same heart.”

With its atmospheric production, emotional depth, and genre-defying approach, “Around The World” showcases Teanga Teanga’s unique artistic vision and offers listeners a fresh perspective on one of the most enduring songs of the twentieth century.

Around The World” will be released worldwide on June 26, 2026.
