Following their debut at Governor’s Ball, rising trio Chanpan have announced their first-ever North American headline tour, set for this September. The 17-date run marks a major milestone for the New York City-based group, concluding with a hometown performance at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn.
Artist and venue presales begin June 11 at 10 a.m. local time, with general on-sale tickets available June 12 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets are available now.
Alongside the tour announcement, Chanpan have shared their new single “i got a gun,” the final preview of their upcoming EP autogratis, arriving June 25 via EQT Recordings. The trio debuted the track live during their Governor’s Ball set this past weekend, where their performance drew attention from Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan, The FADER, and more. Teen Vogue highlighted the group’s rapid ascent, noting their trajectory from busking in New York City to performing on one of its biggest festival stages as a standout story of emerging talent.
Sonically, “i got a gun” pushes the group’s high-intensity aesthetic further, building around breakbeat-driven momentum and sharp, explosive production. The accompanying visual extends that energy while grounding the track in a more pointed thematic focus, reflecting the group’s continued engagement with sociopolitical ideas and lived experience.
At its core, the song explores themes of fear, vulnerability, and self-preservation, particularly through the lens of queer identity and womanhood. It reflects the heightened awareness and defensive instincts that can emerge in environments shaped by uncertainty, tension, and social pressure.
The release follows earlier singles from autogratis, including the frenetic, genre-blending “buzzin” and the rock-driven “confessions part iii,,” both of which helped establish the EP’s wide-ranging sonic palette. “buzzin” first gained traction after its debut on COLORS, while “confessions part iii,,** paid homage to the group’s early street-performance roots in Chinatown, New York City.

For autogratis, Chanpan reunited with a core creative team including producer Frankie Scoca (known for work with NewJeans and Sevdaliza), Pom Pom (credits include John Legend and flowerovlove), mix engineer Migui Maloles (associated with Daniel Caesar and Killer Mike), and mastering engineer Alec Ness (known for work with Paris Texas and After). The project also expands their sonic world with additional contributions from Louie Lastic, Taydex, and Wes Singerman, among others.
Formed in Chinatown, Chanpan began as a grassroots project when Grace Dumdaw (they/them) and twin brothers Lance Tran and Matthew Tran started busking to fund their early recordings. Their breakout quickly followed, drawing attention from both the fashion and music worlds, leading to their debut EP endlessly, a series of viral moments, sold-out headline shows in New York City and Los Angeles, and tours alongside Haru Nemuri and Post Animal.
As anticipation builds for autogratis, Chanpan’s latest chapter signals a group rapidly expanding their identity—balancing kinetic genre experimentation with socially conscious storytelling and an increasingly confident live presence.
