Following the release of their sweeping remix of “Sacrifice,” genre-defying band 2ŁØT returns with “Never Knew You (The Albert Harvey Mix),” the latest single from their forthcoming EP The Albert Harvey Mix, set for release on October 24. The track offers a moody, club-ready reinvention of one of the most poignant songs from the band’s debut album Entropy — now filtered through the lens of celebrated Dutch producer Albert Harvey (David Guetta, Avicii, Armin van Buuren, Stargate).
“Never Knew You” was originally written by 2ŁØT frontman Rudy Love Jr.’s late father, Rudy Love Sr. — a revered soul artist and cultural icon. The song meditates on intimacy, misperception, and the quiet realization that we often only know people on the surface. The lyrics explore the distance between how we see others and who they truly are.
“For me, this song is one of the most emotionally layered tracks on Entropy,” says Love Jr. “My father wrote the original lyrics years ago, and finishing the song with the band after his passing gave it a whole new weight. It became about seeing yourself in someone else’s absence. Albert’s remix doesn’t take anything away from that – it builds on it with this pulse and movement that makes the story feel alive in a different way.”
While the original version leaned into smoky instrumentation and melancholic restraint, Harvey’s reimagining adds new urgency. Through hypnotic rhythms and textured layering, the remix pulls the listener deeper into the emotional architecture of the track, creating an atmosphere of ache, memory, and motion.
“Never Knew You (The Albert Harvey Mix)” is the second of four tracks featured on The Albert Harvey Mix, an EP that reimagines key songs from Entropy through the Dutch producer’s globally attuned perspective. The project follows the band’s recent collaborations with Aloe Blacc on “Immortal” and Paul Oakenfold on “Entropy (Remix),” further expanding their presence in the electronic and dance music world while staying true to their mission of depth, resilience, and social connection.
