The world woke up to the tragic news of Tim Bergling’s passing just a few days ago on April 20th. It was a shockwave heard around the world in the EDM world, filled with condolences, articles, and speculations.

“Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions.

An over-achieving perfectionist who traveled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.

When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music.

He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness.

He could not go on any longer.

He wanted to find peace.

Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.

Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed.

The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive.”

Let’s talk about this for a moment. From the verbiage of the statement, it seems like the pressure of success was too much to handle, and Tim possibly took his own life.

If that is the case, this is a tragic moment in the life and death of the worlds biggest EDM star. It brings up so many wishes to help anyone who is dealing with depression, and suicidal thoughts, before it is too late.

I’m so sad to hear this (almost confirmed) news. I was really hoping my initial gut instincts were wrong here.

Suicide has touched my family, and my heart and prayers go out to his in this difficult time.
