Full Send Ahead! Hi, Society 2020 Date Announced

by Angela Casey

Can you feel it? Are you itching to get out of your apartment and into the woods with your friends? Have the longer days got you daydreaming of warm nights and cool mornings with the sweet sound of PK subs coaxing you out of your tent? Yeah. Me too. If we’re going to get specific, there’s one festival in particular that’s got me fired up for summer 2020. The highly anticipated return of Hi, Society Festival in Kamloops BC has been the talk of the town in the Okanagan this season, and as of today, we know exactly when it’s going down.

On August 22nd, 2020 Hi, Society Entertainment will be bringing over fifty of the best artists in the game to Kamloops, BC for 24 hours of pure, hedonistic, musical pleasure. You read that right, Hi Society Festival is a marathon 24 – hour event, boasting some of the biggest headliners the Pacific North West electronic music community have seen on a festival of this scale. Last year’s headliners included Mat The Alien, Phibes, Neon Steve and a host of incredible local and regional artists. No word on when this years line up will be released but I suspect it won’t be too far behind today’s save-the-date announcement, and with the owner and operator of Hi, Society teasing us with a very very dirty penguin image on his socials a few weeks back, it doesn’t take too much brainpower to assume we’ve got a Dirtybird artist on that lineup.

Hi, Society is an entertainment company that consistently delivers on its promise to bring the biggest and best names to the Okanagan Electronic Scene. Over the last few months, they’ve hosted Distinct Motive, Radikal Guru, Average Gypsy, and more in and around the Kamloops area. These guys never stop planning bigger and better events. Kellan Sandhu, owner and operator of Hi Society Entertainment, had this to say about this year’s festivities “It’s been extremely hard keeping this lineup and all our plans to ourselves and needless to say we are ecstatic to finally get it out into the universe very soon. The team has worked extremely hard to provide something for everyone one this year along with a whole bunch of very special surprises!” Hold on to your spirit hoods Freaks, here’s an insider scoop on one of those surprises; Hi Society 2020 will have one very shiny, very loud addition to their already monstrous PK Sound System. The company recently invested in a brand new PK Line Array system and is quickly becoming one of the largest PK powered entertainment companies in all of BC. Sound system snobs will not be disappointed at Hi, Society 2020. Can you say #BringYourEarplugs?

Hi, Society Festival is chalking up to be one of British Columbia’s most unique, intimate festivals of the summer. With camping, vendors, art installations, dancers (yes, including the return of Grinder Girl) and harm reduction on sight, they’ve got everything you could want in a festival, wrapped up in a 24 hour, only-need-one-day-off bow. Still not sold? Early bird tickets are 50 dollars, and won’t exceed 150 dollars at the gate. No need to break the bank for this stellar show. Call your boss, find a baby sitter, get August 22nd booked off and assemble the crew, once that lineup drops, this festival will be at the top of your list for Festival Season 2020.
