Amongst cancellations and postponements, Hi, Society Entertainment is full steam ahead for their 24-hour extravaganza of a festival slotted for August 22nd, 2020. On Monday they dropped their biggest lineup to date, boasting not one but two world-famous acts at headliners. Bass lovers in British Columbia are going to be over the moon about Deep, Dark, and Dangerous founding artist TRUTH on the bill for 2020. One of the only lineups North of the border that will host them this summer. On top of that, this House-mouse is beyond stoked to see a long time favourite, Billy Kenny headlining this year. Historically Hi, Society has been geared towards Bass music, so to see a Dirtybird artist headlining the festival is nothing short of miraculous.
In addition to headliners, Hi, Society has brought back crowd favourites Abstrakt Sonance, Mat The Alien, and a very special Pleasensations set from Neon Steve. There is no shortage of love for B.C. locals on this year’s lineup. Heavy Mellow Movement, who is responsible for the incredible stage designs at the festival, will be delivering deep dub vibes that Kamloops ravers can’t get enough of. Kelowna’s favourite STUND joins the roster for 2020, who will be making waves this summer as he makes his premier at Shambhala Music Festival on the AMPhitheatre stage as well. Drum and Bass don Leo Zen will be hosting the festival again this year and delivering an extended set to close out the night. The third DDD artist on the lineup is Toronto’s Distinct Motive, who played a whopper of a set at Hi, Societies October showcase in Kamloops. Shambhala representation is strong this year, with Pagoda Daddy DJ Soup and prodigal son Ben Fox playing a B2B set that I am drooling about already. Fractal Forest longtime lady love JGirl is on the lineup for 2020 and I couldn’t be happier to see her up there alongside these incredible acts. Up and comer Chrizpy Chriz is going back to back with Jellynote. Kytami and her vivacious violin act is going to blow minds, and Alberta’s Carissa Gem is repping the Bass queens alongside Dalliance, Kamloops’ own up and coming dub-goddess. I myself am getting ready to deliver a Sunrise Sermon full of uplifting, Melodic House to anyone who makes it to 7 AM (peep Angie C on that third tier of the lineup).
There is truly something for everyone on this lineup, and with over 120,000 watts of pristine PK Sound, Hi, Society 2020 is ready to shake you to your core with the best sound system you could get your ears in front of. Performance groups La Gogue and Rogue will be stealing your hearts from dusk till dawn with their top tier dancers, and the art installations are going to create an immersive, inspiring environment for you and your crew to explore. Bigger and better than ever, you won’t want to overlook one of British Columbia’s fastest rising events. Click the image below for tickets that are on sale now and volunteer applications are open.
