Brooklyn rapper, producer, and longtime underground mainstay Chuck Strangers has announced his forthcoming album Glory of the King’s Hand, arriving July 10 via Lex Records. Alongside the announcement, Chuck has released the introspective new single “Everyday,” a self-produced collaboration featuring rising artist Obii Say, whom Chuck has described as his favorite rapper at the moment.

Following the previously released “Torn In Two,” produced by The Alchemist, “Everyday” offers another glimpse into the emotional and sonic landscape shaping the new project. Built around warm, reflective production and understated honesty, the track finds Chuck Strangers examining gratitude, survival, and personal growth while balancing the successes of his career against lingering struggles and past hardships. The result is a grounded and emotionally transparent snapshot of his current mindset.

More than a decade into his career, Glory of the King’s Hand represents a major artistic evolution for Chuck, pushing beyond the format that originally established him as a standout producer-rhymer within the Pro Era collective. While previous releases often centered around his ability to rap over his own soulful production, the new album embraces a far more collaborative and composition-focused approach, placing equal emphasis on songwriting, melody, arrangement, and atmosphere.

“I made choruses, there’s melodies, there’s instrumentation,” Chuck explained while reflecting on the project’s creative process. “I really tried to just make better songs that people might want to hear again — that are more than just a good verse.”

That shift toward intentional songcraft is evident throughout the album’s sprawling collaborative framework. Tracks like “Breaking Atoms” build around jazz-inspired improvisation from production trio Human Error Club, pairing hypnotic Fender Rhodes textures with head-nodding percussion beneath vivid verses from billy woods and psychedelic vocal contributions from Zeroh. Elsewhere, “Torn In Two” finds Chuck gliding effortlessly across The Alchemist’s cinematic and operatic loops, while tracks like “G Pack,” “L2LL2C,” and “Ski’d Up Reprise” maintain the soulful introspection and smoky delivery that have become defining characteristics of his catalog.

To help shape the album’s sonic identity, Chuck Strangers assembled an impressive roster of producers and collaborators drawn from across underground hip-hop’s most respected circles. Contributors include The Alchemist, Animoss, Theravada, Kenny Segal, Preservation, Child Actor, Morriarchi, Human Error Club, and Cam Beats, alongside guest appearances from billy woods, Zeroh, and Obii Say.

In support of the album, Chuck has also announced a headline US tour launching this July, with stops planned in cities including Atlanta, Philadelphia, and New York City. Support across select dates will come from underground heavyweights AKAI SOLO, Theravada, and Fly Anakin, reinforcing the album’s deep roots within contemporary independent rap culture.

The release continues a steady and carefully crafted artistic progression that began with 2018’s Consumers Park. After years helping define the sound and creative identity of Pro Era, Chuck Strangers gradually carved out a distinct voice through projects including 2020’s Too Afraid To Dance, 2023’s The Boys & Girls EP, and 2024’s A Forsaken Lover’s Plea. Beyond his solo work, he has remained active behind the boards, recently contributing production to collaborative releases like Bad Tofu and Boldy James’ Token of Appreciation.

With Glory of the King’s Hand, Chuck Strangers appears to be delivering the most complete realization yet of his artistic vision — one that fully embraces his strengths as both a rapper and executive producer while expanding into richer, more fully realized songwriting territory. The album feels positioned not only as another step forward, but as a defining statement from an artist who has spent years quietly refining every aspect of his craft.
