Sub Focus has dropped his latest single, “Wildfire,” today (July 30) via Casablanca Records. The track was premiered on BBC Radio 1 by Jack Saunders, who selected it as his “Hottest Record” of the day.

This is the first solo release of the year for the pioneering British electronic music artist, following his massive collaboration with John Summit, “Go Back,” which has garnered over 25 million streams on Spotify since its release in May. Last year, Sub Focus released the UK Top 40 album Evolve. “Wildfire” features the vocals of Jo Hill, who also appeared on last year’s “Ready To Fly,” the Top 30 single by Sub Focus & Dimension, which was classified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry.
“Wildfire” has already been a hit in live performances by Sub Focus, with enthusiastic responses from the audience, including a crowd of 50,000 at EDC in Las Vegas earlier this year and at his recent headlining performance at Brighton’s On The Beach. The single has quickly become a fan favorite, building anticipation for its official release.
“I first played ‘Wildfire’ at Drumsheds at the end of last year and immediately knew from the crowd reaction we were onto something special,” says Sub Focus. “It’s been the most requested song in my set for months now, so what better way to kick off a new series of releases of mine.”
The release of “Wildfire” comes amid a burst of new activity from Sub Focus. This month, he also unveiled new imagery, including photographs created with acclaimed, award-winning photographer Neil Krug, known for his collaborations with Tame Impala, Lana Del Rey, and Bonobo.
Sub Focus has maintained an intense live schedule this year, showcasing his “Circular Sound” live and Evolve audiovisual show on festival main stages worldwide. His presence is particularly notable in the U.S., where Drum & Bass as a genre, and Sub Focus as an artist, are experiencing a significant surge in popularity. Following his successful appearance on the WORSHIP tour in March, which sold over 24,000 tickets with sold-out shows in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and more, Sub Focus will return to North America for festival appearances at HARD SUMMER in Los Angeles, Ilsoniq in Montreal, and Elements in Pennsylvania.
