This July, Anjunadeep introduces its new venture, Anjunadeep Explorations, evolving from its beloved Various Artist EP series. Spanning 25 editions from 2016 to 2023, the series fostered talents now integral to the label, such as Ben Böhmer, CRi, Luttrell, Rezident, and Simon Doty. It also showcased underground gems like Theo Kottis, Sam Goku, and Gacha Bakradze, while nurturing rising stars like Sinca, Maty Owl, and Karyendasoul.
Anjunadeep Co-Founder James Grant reflects on the series’ impact: “The Explorations EP series has been pivotal in nurturing new Anjunadeep talent over the past eight years. It’s launched acts like Ben Böhmer, Marsh, and Luttrell, who have become integral to our label family. With the series now becoming a dedicated label, we look forward to uncovering more new talent and embracing future stars of Anjunadeep.”
Anjunadeep Label Director Dom Donnelly adds, “Our new Anjunadeep Explorations label builds on the legacy of the EP series. Each week, we’ll unveil music from the next generation of Anjunadeep artists, shaping the label’s sound while throwing in surprises. We’re excited to share upcoming tracks from nearly 20 artists.” The label’s debut release is a special 12” white label sampler featuring six tracks by signed artists, including Chris Luno and Marley Carroll. Digital releases will follow individually.
The compilation begins with LAR‘s emotive ‘Over & Over’, featuring vocalist ALLKNIGHT from Glasgow, who has collaborated with Marsh and Le Youth. LAR, originally from Nottingham and now based in Sweden, made his Anjunadeep debut in 2023 with ‘Collide’ and is set to release his first solo EP on the label. London-based duo Mona Vale return to Anjunadeep after their 2022 debut EP ‘Pieces Of You’, with their track ‘Give It Time‘ blending nostalgic piano and guitar melodies with their own vocals.
Chris Luno returns following his debut on Explorations 23, showcasing a double-single alongside the vinyl sampler, following his rise from a YouTube mix series to radio support on SiriusXM Chill.Swedish artist Klur debuts with ‘High Above’, featuring dynamic synths and organic percussive elements, reflecting his 2024 success supporting PRAANA on their North America tour. Marley Carroll marks another debut with ‘One More Year’, a preview of his upcoming EP, having earned acclaim for his turntablism at festivals like Coachella and Moogfest, alongside self-releases like the ‘Voices EP‘.
Lastly, Omfell, a classically trained pianist, delivers ‘Flying The Moment’, blending piano elegance with deep house vibes, supported by stations like BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM Chill. Stay tuned as Anjunadeep Explorations embarks on discovering and elevating the future of electronic music talent. In the coming months, Explorations will release music from rising stars, including Chris Luno, Klur, LAR, Mona Vale, Omfeel, Parallel Voices, Marley Carroll, Boxer, Into The Ether, Maty Owl, Tagavaka, and GHEIST.
