Dance-pop artist Kyle Waves returns with his latest single “Rose-Tinted,” a shimmering, synth-driven release blending Y2K-Inspired Pop with introspective lyricism. Out now across all streaming platforms, the track captures the tension between self-doubt and resilience, pairing vulnerable storytelling with an undeniable late-night energy.

Built on atmospheric production and pulsing electronic rhythms, “Rose-Tinted” expands Kyle Waves’ evolving sonic identity while staying rooted in the dance-pop sensibilities that have defined his recent work. Here, he leans into a softer yet more conflicted emotional space, exploring the uncertainty of navigating your twenties and questioning direction and purpose.

“I know as a twenty-something that it can be really difficult to feel like you’re on the right path, and I’ve had a lot of difficulty with thinking I’ve messed up everything and that I’ve gotten in my own way, that things won’t work out,” says Kyle Waves. “I took all of those feelings and put them into this song because I didn’t want to get stuck in them. Instead, I wanted to release it all and keep pushing.”

Lyrics like “I think I’ve been feeling kinda low / Close to not believing” and the recurring refrain “Try to keep on breathing” reflect an internal dialogue shaped by anxiety, ambition, and the search for clarity. Rather than resolving that tension, the track lives in the in-between—where doubt lingers, but so does the determination to move forward.

The production mirrors that push and pull, evolving from airy synth layers into a fully immersive soundscape before dissolving into an extended, dancefloor-ready outro. Mixed and mastered by Kai Tsao of KLND Audio, the track embraces a sleek, nostalgic palette reminiscent of early 2000s Pop while maintaining a modern, intimate edge.

Born in Singapore and now based in New York City, Kyle Waves continues to carve out a distinct lane as a queer pop artist exploring love, heartbreak, and identity. His work is defined not only by sound but by a cohesive visual language, incorporating stylized photography, video, and choreography into each release. “Rose-Tinted” follows recent singles “Picture In My Phone” and “Restart Love,” as well as earlier EPs Signals and Fragments. His growing catalog has earned recognition from outlets including Out Magazine, EARMILK, OutLoud Radio, and Live Nation’s Ones To Watch.

Capturing the feeling of being lost in thought on a late-night dancefloor, Rose-Tinted balances introspection with movement. As Kyle Waves describes it, “I’d describe the feeling of this song as dancing in slow motion under pink neon lights in the club. It’s 3 AM, and you’re kind of in your feelings, but despite that, you’re still dancing, and you feel more alive than ever.”

Fans can catch Kyle Waves live at Brooklyn Music Kitchen in New York on April 21, as he continues to bring this next chapter to life on stage.
