Amsterdam-based producer Lamsi joins forces with London-born, Amsterdam-based artist Saidah on their new single “Nice + Slow,” arriving April 10 via Nervous Records. The collaboration lands at the intersection of bass music, house, and UK club, delivering a groove-driven record shaped by rhythm, restraint, and raw energy.
At its core, “Nice + Slow” is built on Lamsi’s percussive, rhythm-forward production, where tightly coiled drums and low-end weight create a hypnotic foundation. Over that framework, Saidah’s vocals cut through with a sensual, unfiltered edge—balancing control and intensity while elevating the track’s late-night atmosphere.
The collaboration feels organic, rooted in a shared understanding of dance music’s diasporic influences. Lamsi, whose sound draws from Surinamese musical traditions and UK club structures, finds a natural counterpart in Saidah, whose background spans UKG, bassline, and broader UK club culture. On “Nice + Slow,” those influences don’t compete—they lock into place, creating a sound that’s deliberate, spacious, and designed for moments when the energy in a room subtly shifts.
Speaking on the track, Lamsi explains, “‘Nice + Slow’ came from wanting to merge the classic house energy I grew up with into a club context that feels raw, percussive and direct. Hearing Saidah’s voice made me want to have her voice and take on it. Definitely felt natural and it instantly clicked between us.”
Saidah adds, “I originally connected with Lamsi’s music when I heard his take on speed garage merged with Caribbean rhythms—a huge vibe. For this track I loved stepping slightly outside of my signature sound to add vocals that felt raw, sensual, and lean heavily into the bass music genre.”
For both artists, “Nice + Slow” marks a clear step forward. For Lamsi, it continues the development of a production style that stays culturally grounded while remaining club-focused. For Saidah, it opens the door to a heavier, more direct sonic palette—expanding her range without losing her identity.
With its restrained intensity and cross-cultural foundation, “Nice + Slow” stands as a refined, floor-ready collaboration—one that underscores both artists’ ability to shape sound with intention while staying locked into the pulse of contemporary club music.
