Trixie Mattel is gearing up for a massive festival season with the release of a spacey, high-energy rework of No Doubt’s iconic hit “Hella Good,” now reimagined with vocals from Bonnie McKee. The track arrives as a bold, club-ready reinterpretation, blending EDM textures with the original’s new wave DNA.
“Bonnie McKee is my red-headed Barbie doll and her vocals add so much gloss to this,” said Trixie Mattel. “This song is so iconic and I’m happy to have made it gayer.”
The release continues Trixie Mattel’s evolution into a dance music force, building on the success of her Solid Pink Disco tour and a growing catalog of pop reworks, including her take on RuPaul’s “Supermodel” alongside VINCINT. What began as a playful extension of her brand has quickly developed into a fully realized musical identity rooted in disco, house, and pop culture nostalgia.
Looking ahead, Trixie Mattel is preparing to debut Super Disco, a new conceptual live show set to roll out across major festivals this year. Described as a sci-fi-driven dance party spectacle, the production will feature her most ambitious stage design and largest catalog of original edits, remixes, and bootlegs to date.
“New tracks, remixes, bootlegs… While I still want to provide that sense of escapism, I’m spinning a narrative where love and humanity prevail over greed and automation. It’s higher stakes than anything I’ve done on the festival circuit before,” she shared.
Drawing inspiration from classic sci-fi and pop culture—including Star Trek, The Jetsons, and Watchmen—the Super Disco concept leans into retro-futurism both sonically and visually. “Musically, I’m leaning into what I love most: retro disco, funk, and funky house,” Trixie Mattel explained. “Visually, it contrasts the ‘worst parts of America’—personified by a male villain obsessed with the military, robotics, and greed—against Trixie, who hails from a pink jungle planet that values love and connection.”
The Super Disco experience will touch down at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Lightning in a Bottle, Bonnaroo, Osheaga, Capitol Hill Block Party, and Outside Lands, bringing the immersive concept to audiences across North America.
Beyond the decks, Trixie Mattel continues to expand her influence across entertainment. From her win on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 to the success of Trixie Cosmetics, charting music releases, award-winning podcasts, and New York Times Best-Selling books, she has built a multifaceted career that transcends traditional boundaries.
With her reimagined “Hella Good” and the upcoming Super Disco rollout, Trixie Mattel is set to make a defining impact on festival season—delivering a fully immersive, genre-blurring experience that merges music, storytelling, and spectacle on a global stage.
