Australian DJ and producer 1tbsp returns with his latest single “Pink Dress,” reconnecting with Australian-Venezuelan artist Cherry Chola for another chapter in their evolving creative partnership. The release signals a bold step forward in his sound, introducing a sharper, dance-punk edge that pushes beyond his established electronic palette.
The collaboration builds on a chemistry that first sparked a few years ago when the pair quickly wrote “Limosina” in a single session. Since then, their workflow has grown into a fluid, ongoing exchange—one that continues to expand across styles and moods. On “Pink Dress,” that synergy is more pronounced than ever, with Cherry Chola’s versatile vocal delivery adapting seamlessly to the track’s gritty textures and driving energy.
That same creative freedom will carry into 1tbsp’s forthcoming album big soaps, set for release on August 7 via his own label dottidot in collaboration with French imprint Recherche et Developpement. Described as a multi-genre dance record, the project will further explore the dynamic range the duo tap into here.
“Fabby is quite prolific, and since then we’ve made a lot of music together,” 1tbsp explains. “I love how her voice sits on different styles, and we got to explore that more on ‘Pink Dress’ and on my upcoming album big soaps.”
Accompanying the single is a self-directed music video shot in Sydney, featuring Cherry Chola alongside Soltera and Sonido Sex on keys and drums. While the track itself was crafted entirely in Ableton, the visual leans into a live-band aesthetic, mirroring the raw, performance-driven energy that defines the song.

“‘Pink Dress’ felt like a strong step into a more dance-punk direction,” 1tbsp adds. “It was fun to reflect that by having a band in the video, even though everything in the song was made digitally.”
The release follows closely behind his recent single “Soulseek” with Soltera, arriving amid a wave of major milestones for 1tbsp. Alongside the album announcement, he has revealed plans for a North American “bubble tour,” a debut performance at Coachella, and a month-long residency at Phonox in London this May.
With “Pink Dress,” 1tbsp continues to stretch his creative boundaries—blurring genres, embracing new textures, and setting the tone for what promises to be a defining era with big soaps.
