Beatport Launches “The Block” to Spotlight Emerging DJs Across the US Festival Circuit

Beatport is opening new doors for emerging talent with the launch of The Block, a mobile shipping container stage designed to bring rising DJs into the heart of the U.S. festival circuit. The initiative will debut at Toe Jam during Winter Music Conference in Miami from March 24–26, 2026, before touring nationwide with stops including Breakaway Festival.

Built as a self-contained, professionally produced performance space, The Block is designed to seamlessly integrate into festivals and venues across the country. Aspiring DJs can apply for a chance to perform by submitting a mix through Beatport’s platform, with applications open through March 19.

Selected artists will receive complimentary event passes for themselves and their crew, alongside a performance slot at Toe Jam. The stage will also feature established names including Victor Calderone, HoneyLuv, Bradley Zero, DJ Holographic, Dan Ghenacia, Richy Ahmed, and Cole Knight.

The launch arrives at a critical moment for the electronic music landscape. While the genre continues to dominate festival bookings—highlighted by Coachella’s 2026 lineup being 45% electronic and EDC Las Vegas preparing for over 400,000 attendees at its 30th anniversary—the pathway for new artists remains limited. Industry data shows that only 1.6% of DJs globally have five or more upcoming bookings, while 76% report that their careers are not financially sustainable. Additionally, 62% of emerging artists describe the industry as a “closed club.”

“The US scene is booming, but when only 1.6% of DJs are getting regular bookings and most emerging artists can’t even get in the room, something needs to change,” says Ed Hill, SVP of Beatport Live. “The Block gives raw talent a stage at the biggest events in the country, discovery based on music, not follower counts.”

The Block builds on its successful 2025 rollout in the UK, with appearances at Junction 2 Festival and Creamfields, where more than 20 competition winners performed alongside major artists. Highlights included a surprise pop-up set from Fatboy Slim at The Prospect Building in Bristol.

For its U.S. expansion, Beatport has partnered with AlphaTheta as the official DJ technology partner, Funktion-One as the official sound partner, and Playground as the official community partner for WMC Toe Jam.

With additional tour dates and lineup announcements expected throughout 2026, The Block positions Beatport at the forefront of reshaping how emerging DJs break into the festival circuit—offering a rare, direct pathway from the bedroom to some of the country’s biggest stages.
