Trixie Mattel is set to bring her newly unveiled Super Disco DJ experience to Lollapalooza this summer, adding to a growing list of festival appearances including Bonnaroo, Lightning in a Bottle, Outside Lands, Osheaga, and Capitol Hill Block Party.
Building on the breakout success of Solid Pink Disco, Super Disco marks a bold evolution of the concept—retaining its retro, feel-good core while expanding into a fully realized sci-fi narrative. The show introduces a multi-part storyline in which Trixie Mattel lands on Earth to save humanity, adding a timely layer of commentary beneath its vibrant, escapist surface.
Framed as a full-scale sci-fi spectacle, Super Disco represents the most ambitious live production of her DJ career to date. The experience blends new tracks, remixes, and bootlegs into a larger narrative arc, backed by an expanded visual identity and performance scale designed for major festival stages.
“New tracks, remixes, bootlegs… While I still want to provide that sense of escapism, I’m spinning a narrative where love and humanity prevail over greed and automation. It’s higher stakes than anything I’ve done on the festival circuit before,” she shared.
Drawing inspiration from classic science fiction, including Star Trek, The Jetsons, and Watchmen, Trixie Mattel shapes a world that merges retro futurism with club culture. “I’ve been consuming a lot of news, Star Trek, The Jetsons, reread Watchmen, and old sci-fi, so I knew I wanted a space-and-aliens theme,” she added. “Musically, I’m leaning into what I love most: retro disco, funk, and funky house.”
Visually, the show contrasts opposing worlds—depicting the “worst parts of America,” embodied by a villain driven by militarization, robotics, and greed, against Trixie’s own “pink jungle planet,” a universe centered on love, connection, and collective energy.
The Super Disco tour will touch down across North America throughout the summer, including stops at Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL (July 30–August 2), Lightning in a Bottle in Buena Vista Lake, CA (May 23), Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN (June 13), Osheaga at Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montreal, QC (August 2), Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, WA (August 7–9), and Outside Lands in San Francisco, CA (August 8).
