J Ribbon returns to Anjunabeats with his new double A-side release, ‘Redemption / Lights On,’ delivering two club-ready tracks that capture the energy of his rapidly rising career.
Born Johnny Paul Newman, the 21-year-old producer first entered the industry at just 15 when he signed to FFRR Records, the imprint led by Pete Tong. Now operating under his J Ribbon alias, he has quickly established himself as one of the UK’s most promising progressive house talents, supporting Eric Prydz during his summer residencies at Hï Ibiza in 2024 and [UNVRS] Ibiza in 2025.
Debuted during the [UNVRS] Ibiza residency, ‘Redemption / Lights On’ reflects the high-impact atmosphere of those marathon summer sets. ‘Redemption’ drives forward with powerful basslines and tension-building synths designed for peak-time moments, while ‘Lights On’ delivers a euphoric melodic payoff that highlights J Ribbon’s instinct for emotionally resonant club records.
The producer first appeared on Anjunabeats in 2024 with ‘My Habitat,’ released as part of the label’s Rising EP series. The track earned cross-genre support from artists including Adriatique, Sam Divine, and Don Diablo. He followed with ‘Lifetime,’ which has since surpassed three million streams across digital platforms and became a recurring feature on Match of the Day and coverage of UEFA Euro 2024, while also generating more than one million organic views on TikTok as a sleeper hit.
Beyond his solo work, Johnny Paul Newman is also one half of dance duo Rathbone Place. Their 2021 single ‘Be Free’ received strong backing on BBC Radio 1 from Danny Howard, Annie Mac, and Arielle Free, while also gaining DJ support from names including Mark Knight, Jax Jones, Sigala, Bakermat, and Martin Garrix.
Following his Ibiza residencies, J Ribbon has continued expanding his global footprint with sold-out performances at O2 Academy Brixton supporting Above & Beyond, as well as appearances at Ushuaïa Ibiza alongside Adam Beyer, Franky Wah, Armin van Buuren, and D.O.D.
Additional performances at Fabric, Ministry of Sound, AFAS Live, A State of Trance Festival, and Pier 17 have further underlined his growing international profile.
Launching into 2026 with strong momentum, ‘Redemption / Lights On’ marks another major step forward for J Ribbon, delivering two peak-time weapons built for the world’s biggest dancefloors.
