Born Dirty makes his long-awaited return to Dirtybird with the release of his new single “Trippy Boys Trippy Girls,” out today. Co-written with Linden Jay, the track has been a decade in the making, emerging from experimentation across house, techno, and breaks. The song moves with off-kilter momentum, featuring arpeggiated synth loops spiraling over jangling percussion and zippering basslines, creating a woozy, kaleidoscopic medley that feels both unruly and hypnotic.

“Made this 10 years ago and I remember thinking back it was such a vibe and so different, we just needed to find the right label for it. Dirtybird was on my list. Funny how life works. It’s finally landed exactly where it was meant to!” – Born Dirty

A staple of the electronic scene for over a decade, Born Dirty has earned the respect of top DJs and tastemakers worldwide. His forward-thinking productions have appeared on labels including Mad Decent, OWSLA, Fool’s Gold, and Armada, showcasing his boundary-pushing approach. His diverse discography, shaped by his time in France and the UK, includes collaborations with Diplo, LP Giobbi, Anna Lunoe, and more. Born Dirty first appeared on Dirtybird in 2016 with “Check Your Bell” on the Dirtybird BBQ: Secret Sauce compilation, and “Trippy Boys Trippy Girls” marks his official return to the label.

The single also introduces this year’s Dirtybird Artist In Residence, Thomas Ascott, a Tennessee-born painter and illustrator inspired by the natural elements and fauna of the Smoky Mountains. Since 2012, the program has commissioned artists including Sam Flores, Pemex, Felicia Chiao, and Birdcap, providing a platform for visual creativity while reinforcing Dirtybird’s commitment to the visual arts.

Trippy Boys Trippy Girls” is available now on all streaming platforms, continuing Born Dirty’s legacy of adventurous, left-of-center electronic music.
