Dance music heavyweight John Summit returns with his latest single “WITH ME,” out now via Experts Only and Darkroom Records. Featuring alt-pop artist Julia Wolf, the track marks the third single from Summit’s forthcoming album CTRL ESCAPE, arriving April 15.
“WITH ME” finds Summit venturing into darker, more emotionally charged territory. Trading peak-time festival euphoria for something more intimate and unsettled, the track lingers in the tension between desire and absence. Layered synths and a pulsing low end anchor the production, while ghostly chopped vocals blur the line between release and restraint. Wolf’s emo-leaning vocal performance cuts through with raw immediacy — “you stay up all night, you don’t say what you mean / I drink down my mistakes, I almost feel you with me” — before the track gives way to an irresistible bassline that anchors its club sensibility.
Summit describes the collaboration as a deliberate genre crossover. “I’ve been a big fan of Julia’s voice and indie alternative sound for a while so I asked her if she’s ever been on a dance record and she said no… so I invited her to my Miami studio and we merged our sounds to make something I think is truly unique,” he explains. “I really don’t know what genre to call this but whatever it is there’s no rules and that’s what I love about dance music.”
CTRL ESCAPE promises to push beyond Summit’s established tech-house framework, weaving in elements of dubstep, drum & bass, and broader electronic influences. Conceived as a portrait of his life in motion, the album reflects the contrast between relentless stadium-scale touring and the smaller, more intimate shows he continues to prioritize for his core fanbase. Each track operates as its own sonic world while remaining designed for dance floors of every size.
The rollout has been intentional. Earlier this month, Summit unveiled “SHADOWS” featuring LAVINIA, a moody, synth-layered cut steeped in desire and mystery. Prior to that came “LIGHTS GO OUT,” a narrative-driven anthem about breaking from routine into club-fueled liberation.
Beyond the studio, Summit’s global footprint continues to expand. He will make his Ibiza residency debut this summer, headline in the UK at Tofte Manor, host back-to-back Experts Only ski weekenders in Vail and Whistler, and close the mainstage at Ultra Music Festival. International appearances at Tomorrowland, EDC Mexico, and Ultra South Africa further underline his global reach, before the return of the Experts Only Festival in New York City this September.
Following a year that included high-profile releases such as “Crystallized” featuring Inéz and a long-teased remix of Britney Spears’ “I Wanna Go,” Summit continues to broaden both his sound and scope. With “WITH ME,” he signals another evolution — one that embraces emotional risk while maintaining the physical pull of the dance floor.
