Abandoned and STAR SEED Team Up for Cinematic Dubstep Single “Point Of No Return”

Abandoned joins forces with STAR SEED on Point Of No Return, a cinematic dubstep collaboration arriving February 13 via Heaven Sent. Marking the trio’s first release together, the single fuses melodic grandeur, experimental bass design, and emotive vocals into a brooding, high-impact statement crafted for both introspection and scale.

Point Of No Return unfolds as a slow-burning descent into emotional collapse. Plush, melancholic vocals sit at the heart of the track, tracing the aftermath of a love that has caved in on itself. The production mirrors this weight, moving through spacious synthwave passages before erupting into epic, horn-laden dubstep drops tinged with cyberpunk tension. The track concludes with a fleeting psytrance outro, offering release that feels like escape rather than closure.

Point Of No Return represents that moment where emotion takes over and there’s no turning back,” Abandoned explains. “Working with STAR SEED allowed us to blend psytrance energy with melodic bass in a way that feels both intense and deeply emotional. Heaven Sent felt like the perfect home for a record this immersive.”

Reflecting on the track’s development, STAR SEED adds: “This track was so much fun to make. Abandoned and I worked on it for three years before we found its true direction. The vocals acted as the cherry on top, letting us wrap it up the way it was meant to be.”

For Abandoned, this release marks a return to Heaven Sent following 2022’s Tides and reinforces their melodic bass pedigree. The Denmark-based duo has expanded their sound through collaborations with MitiS, Nurko, Micah Martin, CloudNone, and Elle Vee, while receiving support from ILLENIUM, ARMNHMR, and Cyazon. Point Of No Return channels that melodic lineage into darker, cinematic territory.

STAR SEED contributes his analog-driven, genre-fluid production, bridging dubstep, synthwave, and psytrance while maintaining narrative cohesion. Coming off a year of major festival appearances and high-profile tour support, this single underscores his skill in crafting immersive sonic worlds.

Together, Abandoned and STAR SEED deliver a track that is cinematic in scope, intimate in sentiment, and emblematic of Heaven Sent’s emotional ethos.

Point Of No Return is available now on all platforms via Heaven Sent.
