IZCO is stepping into a defining new phase with the announcement of his debut solo studio album, Powerscroft, arriving May 1 via Brownswood Recordings. The East London producer and DJ offers a first look at the project with lead single “Strike a Pose,” featuring vocals from Camille Munn. To mark the release, he will embark on a run of UK shows from March through May, wrapping with a headline date at The Jazz Cafe in London.

Named after the road where he grew up, Powerscroft is both a personal landmark and a sonic statement from an artist who has spent the past decade quietly shaping the contours of UK dance music. The album pulls from jungle, broken beat, grime, garage, soul, and dub, weaving together club energy with a deep sense of memory and identity. It plays like a snapshot of IZCO’s inner world — where early influences, lived experience, and dancefloor instinct collide.

Strike a Pose” distills that approach into a warm but rhythmically driven introduction. Built on a fusion of broken beat swing, garage pulse, and soulful texture, the track pairs IZCO’s groove-led production with Camille Munn’s expressive vocal. Lyrically, it explores emotional distance and personal change — the moment when growth reshapes someone to the point they feel unfamiliar. The phrase itself carries dual meaning, touching both on confidence and the masks people wear to keep moving forward.

Raised in East London, IZCO emerged from a scene steeped in sound system culture and pirate radio legacy. That environment shaped a style that feels rooted yet progressive — respectful of UK dance music history while constantly nudging it forward. His DJ sets have carried that energy worldwide, from New York to Tokyo, with standout appearances at We Out Here, Outlook, and Glastonbury.

He first made his mark producing grime instrumentals for MCs like Capo Lee, Novelist, and Reek0, before evolving into a key figure in the UK’s shifting garage and club landscape. In 2018, he launched his long-running show on Rinse FM and released his debut EP, Tek 5, a project that quietly signaled his knack for balancing raw club functionality with musical depth.

Since then, his production work has reached far beyond the underground. He co-produced PinkPantheress’ breakout track “Passion” alongside Jkarri, and has delivered collaborations and remixes for artists including Katy B and Greentea Peng. In 2025, he toured Europe with Nia Archives, alongside solo runs across Asia and Australia, solidifying his reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling contemporary electronic voices. Among the most meaningful moments in his journey was working with reggae legend Bob Andy, an experience he still cites as formative.

Outside his solo output, IZCO has built platforms for others. As a label head, promoter, and co-founder of Brighter Days Family, he has championed community, collaboration, and craft at every level of the scene.

With Powerscroft, IZCO moves fully into focus. The album stands as his most personal and fully realized project yet — a tribute to where he came from and a statement of where he’s headed. It’s not just a collection of tracks, but a map of influences, memories, and rhythms that have shaped his path from a local beatmaker to a globally respected voice in modern UK dance music.
