Experimental pop provocateur Cobrah returns with the announcement of her long-awaited debut album, Torn, arriving March 6 via Atlantic Records. Written and creatively directed entirely by Cobrah, the project pairs her most emotionally exposed songwriting to date with the provocative scale and high-impact production that define her artistic world. Built on catwalk-ready basslines, jagged electronics, and intimate, hushed vocals, Torn unfolds as a multidimensional self-portrait — raw, theatrical, and unapologetically personal.

“With Torn, I am way more ‘me’ as a person, the songs pull from my real life. It’s a little bit scary,” Cobrah shares. “I love doing characters. I love making things up and being extreme — and I’m still doing that on this album — but I’m also peeling it all off and presenting my real self as a character.”

Alongside the album reveal, Cobrah has shared her new single, “Hush.” The track captures the electric early moments of attraction on the dancefloor, where tension builds through glances and closeness rather than conversation. Driven by restrained energy and pulsing atmosphere, the song simmers with anticipation. Its accompanying music video leans fully into that mood, amplifying the track’s sensual push-and-pull. “It’s about meeting someone in the club — that early phase where you can’t really talk, but everything is suggestive,” she explains. “The song has that energy of holding back, of give-and-take.”

The album announcement arrives just ahead of Cobrah’s debut performance at Coachella this April, continuing the momentum sparked by her Gag Ball Halloween shows last fall. A full North American tour is expected to be announced soon, further expanding her growing global presence.

On Torn, Cobrah explores new vocal territory, revealing a more melodic and sultry dimension beyond the seductive sing-speak style that powered earlier releases. “I have a melodic language that I haven’t used before until now,” she says. “Before it was too personal for me to show it, I didn’t feel strong enough.” Maintaining her meticulous creative control, she reunited with longtime collaborators Isac Hördegård and Hannes Roovers, who have been part of her journey since her 2019 debut single “IDFKA.” At the same time, she broadened her sonic palette by working with Illangelo, known for his work with The Weeknd, experimental producer Machinedrum, and songwriter Tove Burman, who co-wrote ROSALÍA and LISA’s hit “New Woman.”

Originally from Gothenburg, Sweden, Cobrah emerged from Stockholm’s underground fetish scene, channeling that world into a bold and boundary-pushing pop identity. Her 2019 debut EP ICON introduced her subversive visual and sonic language and led to the creation of her label GAGBALL Records, while breakout single “IDFKA” earned a Swedish Grammis nomination for Music Video of the Year. The self-titled 2021 COBRAH EP — praised by NME as “a self-assured slab of sexy, celebratory wonky-pop” — and 2023’s SUCCUBUS EP, which won a Swedish Grammis for Electro/Dance of the Year, cemented her reputation as one of Europe’s most forward-thinking pop artists. Her expanded SUCCUBUS XXXTENDED release featured Amanda Lepore, Ayesha Erotica, and VTSS, while an acclaimed Boiler Room set in London further highlighted her immersive, high-concept performance style.

Beyond music, Cobrah’s influence reaches into fashion and film. She has appeared at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week for designers including Dilara Fındıkoğlu, Dion Lee, and Matière Fécale, while her music has soundtracked campaigns for Jean Paul Gaultier, Mugler, Lancôme, and Viktor & Rolf. Most recently, her single “BRAND NEW BITCH” appeared in Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2024 film Kinds of Kindness and its official trailer.

With Torn, Cobrah steps into her most revealing era yet — a fearless, fully realized debut that blurs the lines between persona and person, fantasy and truth, underground edge and pop spectacle.
