South Carolina rap sensation Trap Dickey accelerates his rise in 2026 with the release of “Down South,” his first-ever collaboration with Memphis multiplatinum superstar Key Glock. The single drops alongside a high-energy music video, offering a vivid homage to the culture, streets, and swagger of the American South, while serving as a lead-in to Trap Dickey’s forthcoming project, THE VILLE.

Produced by FNZ, Teddy Walton, and Aaron Bow, “Down South” fuses a recognizable sample of Lafayette Afro Rock Band’s “Darkest Light” with a thick, thumping bassline, wailing horns, and sharp percussion. Trap Dickey rides the beat with a bright cadence and confident wordplay, delivering lines like, “Project baby taking pictures like I’m Kodak,” before passing the energy to Key Glock, who punctuates the track with assertive affirmations, referencing “the real deal Holyfield” and asserting, “If I’m in the driver’s seat, then I own it.”

The accompanying video finds the duo taking over an auto body shop, rapping amid models and machinery, perfectly visualizing the track’s energy and the pride each artist holds for their roots. The song embodies a celebration of heritage, style, and Southern grit—cementing Trap Dickey and Key Glock as leaders of their respective regions.

Down South” follows a banner 2025 for Trap Dickey, including releases like “Swish” [feat. Baby Kia], “In Dat Mode” [feat. Flippa T], and the viral “Mike Beasley,” which Vibe named one of “40 Hip-Hop And R&B Releases You Need On Your Playlist.” Beyond music, Trap Dickey has continued his community impact through his “Laced To Win” basketball shoe giveaway, partnering with Hibbett Sports to outfit seven South Carolina varsity teams with over $10,000 in shoes and making personal appearances at each school.

A fixture in both online and live culture last year, Trap Dickey joined Kai Cenat on the viral “Mafiathon 3” livestream, performed at Hot 107.9 ATL’s “Who’s Hot” summer showcase, and earned a spot in XXL’s “The Break,” which praised his authentic Southern storytelling, saying: “Songs like ‘No Love’ and ‘Blue Devils’ show why he’s next up from the South.” He also celebrated the launch of a new business venture with an appearance at Charlamagne Tha God’s Krystal burger restaurant grand opening.

With “Down South”, Trap Dickey proves once again why he’s among the South’s most compelling new voices—confident, connected to his roots, and ready to take the next step with THE VILLE.

Fans can stream “Down South” now on all platforms, and more music and announcements from Trap Dickey are expected throughout 2026.
