Max Styler takes a decisive step in shaping his creative universe with ‘Nexus 001’, the inaugural compilation from his newly launched Nu Moda imprint. Designed as a mission statement for the label, the five-track EP spotlights a tightly curated roster of rising voices from the indie dance and house underground. Contributions from Welker, Josh Gigante & Ugo Banchi, Mishell, Pavel Petrov, and DvirNuns & DOX arrive as exclusive cuts built for late-night club environments, prioritizing groove, tension, and hypnotic flow over excess.

Leading the release is Welker with “Ice In My Eyes,” a confrontational indie dance cut that sets the tone for the entire compilation. Anchored by an infectious, fast-cadence vocal hook that locks directly into the rhythm, the track guides every movement of the groove with precision. Buzzsaw-edged synths, slinky melodic flourishes, and punchy percussion push the energy forward with restraint, while a deep, rolling low-end delivers peak-time pressure. The arrangement unfolds with control before landing a final drop that hits harder than expected—sleek on the surface, heavy underneath.

Welker’s ascent has been swift and deliberate. After transitioning from commercial work into the underground, his hybrid of techno, house, and indie dance quickly earned support from tastemakers including Solomun, CamelPhat, Vintage Culture, Gordo, Massano, Innellea, Adam Ten, and Max Styler himself. A breakout debut on Solomun’s Diynamic label saw him top Beatport’s Indie Dance charts, followed by releases on Repopulate Mars and When Stars Align, along with radio support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. Fresh off North American tour support for Odd Mob, Max Styler, and AYYBO, Welker enters 2026 with headline shows in development and a major release lined up on Diplo’s Higher Ground.

Sharing his excitement about joining the label’s debut release, Welker says, “Being invited by Max to release on Nu Moda means a lot to me. He’s one of the people I admire the most in the scene, and having his support behind my art makes me believe in myself even more. It’s truly an honor to be part of the Nu Moda family.”

Beyond its lead single, ‘Nexus 001’ broadens the label’s sonic scope across its remaining selections. Josh Gigante and Ugo Banchi deliver “Kill Bill,” a dark, cinematic club cut built on tension and forward motion. The track thrives on suspense and hypnotic repetition, channeling the urgency of a late-night chase scene. It reflects the duo’s shared underground grounding—Josh Gigante’s London– and Ibiza-rooted upbringing with releases on Diynamic, Afterlife, and Rose Avenue, colliding with Ugo Banchi’s rock-influenced background and emotive, analog-meets-digital sensibility.

“This track is built for late nights, heavy grooves, tension, and that hypnotic pull where you lose track of time,” explains Josh Gigante. Ugo Banchi adds, “With ‘Kill Bill,’ we chased a feeling more than a sound—that rush, that suspense, that moment where everything could explode.”

Tel Aviv riser Mishell follows with “Desire,” a sharp-edged, acid-leaning weapon that draws from classic house while retooling it for modern peak-time floors. Known for fusing house, indie dance, and psychedelic references, Mishell channels his groove-driven, late-night aesthetic into a track that’s punchy, hypnotic, and unapologetically functional—aligning seamlessly with his broader Mess project, where music, fashion, and club culture intersect.

“I’d been missing a proper peak-time weapon in my sets,” Mishell shares. “I’ve always loved old acid-house bangers—tracks like DJ Pierre’s ‘ACID’—so I wanted to bring that energy into something current and true to my own style.”

Bulgarian tastemaker Pavel Petrov injects uplifting momentum on “Feel Good Inside” featuring Tyler Hill. A driving force behind EXE AUDIO, EXE CLUB, and EXE Beach Bar, Petrov blends indie dance, tech house, and underground textures into a dark yet accessible groove. Built around a unifying vocal message and feel-good release, the track has already made its mark in high-profile DJ sets—including plays from Adriatique—cementing it as one of the compilation’s most immediate dancefloor moments.

Quoting a key lyric from the record, Pavel Petrov says, “‘In the music we unite.’ It’s finally the one everyone has been singing. We all needed this positive vibe.”

Closing the compilation, DvirNuns teams up with DOX on “Here We Go,” a high-impact collaboration born from studio instinct and spontaneity. A Beatport chart-topper and one of the platform’s best-selling artists, DvirNuns brings his signature blend of psychedelic intensity and club-ready precision to the track. Built around a commanding synth motif that immediately locks into a driving groove, the record escalates with confidence and clarity.

“This track came together in the most unexpected way,” DvirNuns recalls. “Once that first synth hit, everything locked into place and the energy took over. It’s one of those moments where you instantly know you’ve got something special.”

Unified by a shared emphasis on groove, tension, and late-night functionality, ‘Nexus 001’ delivers a focused snapshot of where indie dance and house are colliding right now. The compilation positions Nu Moda as a forward-facing imprint rooted firmly in club culture—curated with intent, precision, and a clear global vision as Max Styler continues to expand the label’s creative universe.
