Australian bass visionary Leotrix returns to Gud Vibrations with “Dub For Moving On,” a cerebral yet crushing riddim track that reinforces his status as one of electronic music’s most forward-thinking producers. Released December 12th, the single marks his first appearance on the label in four years, offering a reflective yet hard-hitting statement from an artist constantly redefining the edges of bass music.
“Dub For Moving On” operates with architectural precision, building tension through squelched sub-bass swells, pitch-warped motifs, and mechanical accents that fold the sonic space inward. Minimalistic yet hypnotic, each element locks into place while a quiet emotional undercurrent—a subtle melancholy—anchors the track’s jagged riddim framework. Leotrix explains, “‘Dub For Moving On’ was a tune I started four years ago. I wanted to make dubstep that had its own flair and sensibility without needing intense midrange bass like some of my other music.”
The release is a full-circle moment for Leotrix, whose early Gud Vibrations works—including “Taking Back,” “New Lesson,” and his collaboration with Moody Good, “Crackshot”—helped define his trajectory. Since then, the Denver-based producer has become a mainstay in the global bass scene, earning co-signs from Skrillex, Noisia, Zeds Dead, Subtronics, Mersiv, Peekaboo, Flux Pavilion, and many more, alongside radio support from Triple J and George FM.
At just 25, Leotrix carries a decade of experimentation across dubstep, trap, drum & bass, UKG, and 140, releasing on influential labels such as Monstercat, Disciple, Bassrush, UKF, Cyclops Recordings, and the now-defunct Never Say Die. His catalog boasts over 30 million streams and multiple Beatport No. 1s, and his live presence spans festivals including Rampage, Lost Lands, and Ultra Music Festival, as well as tours across Japan, Hong Kong, Europe, and a debut 35-date U.S. headline run.
With “Dub For Moving On,” Leotrix channels introspection and precision, crafting a track about progress that moves with intent rather than rushing ahead. Its stripped-back arrangement and subtle key shifts create a meditative yet menacing experience, reflecting the duality that defines his evolution.
A decade into his journey, Leotrix continues to operate outside convention, proving that the most forward-thinking voices in bass emerge from moments of stillness, recalibration, and fearless reinvention.
