Bass innovator Floret Loret returns with Lightsplinter, a four-track EP arriving December 3 on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats imprint. The project marks a new creative milestone for the rising producer, weaving textured sound design, immersive atmospheres, and heavy low-end into a narrative-driven journey rooted in resilience and renewal.
Sharing the inspiration behind the release, Floret Loret explains that Lightsplinter reflects a year shaped by challenges, uncertainty, and growth. The EP, he says, captures “the feeling of hope that emerges in the face of adversity, while still maintaining a positive outlook toward the future,” framed through the story of a sword forged from light deep within Lightsplinter Cave—a symbolic battle against lingering darkness.
The experience opens with “Doves,” a track that sets a mystical tone through spacious sound design, ritual-like percussion, and retro-futuristic textures. “Assemblage” follows with shimmering arpeggios layered over a trap-influenced groove and gritty, resonant bass, pulling the listener deeper into the EP’s cinematic world. On “Frenzy,” the mood turns sharper and more chaotic, driven by pentatonic motifs, distorted edges, and a palpable sense of tension. The title track “Lightsplinter” closes the project with a feeling of clarity and arrival—a grounded, reflective finale that ties the EP’s emotional arc together.
Looking ahead, Floret Loret will join Shlump on his 2026 tour, bringing the Lightsplinter experience to fans nationwide. The upcoming run marks a pivotal moment for the producer, affirming his rising presence within the bass community while introducing his deeply immersive sound to an even broader audience.
