Dutch house pioneer Oliver Heldens revisits one of dance music’s most iconic tracks with his rework of “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)”, out November 21 via Heldeep Records.
Originally released in 2000 by French house duo Modjo, the track became a defining anthem of its era, seamlessly blending house, funk, and pop. Now, over two decades later, Heldens honors the original groove while infusing it with his signature modern production and melodic house sensibilities.
“For me personally, ‘Lady’ is one of my favorite songs ever, and it’s one of the songs that got me in love with house and disco music as a kid. I never dared to touch/remix it until earlier this year. My goal wasn’t to reinvent the wheel, but to create a modern yet timeless melodic summer club/house mix that serves the original 100%, and I’m pleased with the result. It’s been a highlight in my sets and feels like a mix a wide range of DJs can play out,” Heldens shares.
The rework has already received support from top DJs including Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Martin Garrix, Don Diablo, Nicky Romero, AFROJACK, W&W, R3HAB, Lucas & Steve, Mike Williams, and Blasterjaxx, proving its appeal across global dancefloors.
2025 has been a milestone year for Heldens, who celebrated 10 Years of Heldeep Records with a sold-out Amsterdam Dance Event showcase alongside Tchami, Don Diablo, Chocolate Puma, and Lee Foss. With this release, he continues to bridge eras, reaffirming his status as one of electronic music’s most innovative and enduring talents.
