Mysterious, subterranean producer Oxis announces her forthcoming album Oxis 8, arriving January 16, 2026 via Boom Records. Alongside the announcement, she releases her new single “Guili”—an elegant, immersive expansion of the subaqueous sonic world she continues to build.
Oxis 8 also features previously released fan favorites including “Piranha,” which quickly became a standout moment throughout her recent tour supporting Magdalena Bay, and “Fry,” highlighted in Pigeons & Planes’ must-hear roundup and praised by The FADER as “a miniature epic.”
Reflecting on her creative process, Oxis explains:
“Music for me is not a planned thing. Nothing in life is. The pain and beauty of it all is that nothing is constant, and when something feels sensitive and powerful you have to bite at it quickly, or else it disappears. That’s how I made ‘Oxis 8’—capturing whatever felt tangible when I sat at my computer. It’s hard to catch a small fish.”
2025 has been a breakout year for Oxis. She released Oxis 7 and the surprise Sardine Tin EP of reimagined covers drawn from her marine-inspired universe, followed by a widely acclaimed run opening for Magdalena Bay across North America—spotlighted in her recent Opener feature with The FADER. She later headlined sold-out shows in Toronto and New York City, cementing her fast-growing fanbase.
Her music, dense with layered synths, drifting instrumentation, and her hypnotic vocal delivery, invites listeners to explore emotional depths mirroring the ocean worlds that inspire her. The Oxis project channels the overwhelming intensity of formative emotions—moments that feel like euphoric ascents or crushing plunges—captured with raw, vulnerable clarity.
Conceived in 2023 as an act of creative liberation and an homage to a unique strain of marine electronica, Oxis has since released seven projects in her self-titled series. Her evolving artistry has drawn the attention of Julian Casablancas, leading to opening slots for his LA and NYC shows in 2024, as well as continued praise from Office Magazine and Pigeons & Planes, who named her to their Best New Artists list and hosted a Medium Sized Backyard performance session.
