Legendary UK producer, musician, and label founder µ‑Ziq (Mike Paradinas) is set to release an expansive remix of emerging IDM artist Textbook Maneuver’s “Adrenaline Slip” on November 7, 2025 via LLC Records. Known for his groundbreaking contributions to experimental electronic music, Paradinas is celebrated for his influential work under aliases including Jake Slazenger, Kid Spatula, and Tusken Raiders, as well as for founding the iconic label Planet Mu.
Since emerging in 1993, µ‑Ziq has helped define the IDM landscape. His 1997 album Lunatic Harness sold over 100,000 copies worldwide, earning status as a seminal work in drill‑’n’‑bass and IDM. Releases such as Royal Astronomy (1999) further cemented his reputation for inventive, orchestral-inspired electronic production, garnering acclaim from NME and other tastemakers. Through Planet Mu, Paradinas has championed boundary-pushing genres including breakcore, footwork, and dubstep, launching the careers of artists like Venetian Snares and Jlin.
Textbook Maneuver, the Bronx-born, New Jersey-based project of composer Michael Keane, is emerging as one of experimental electronic music’s most compelling new voices. A classically trained pianist with a punk DIY ethos, Keane fuses cerebral sound design with cinematic storytelling, drawing inspiration from Genesis (Duke era), Rush, Gary Numan, The Postal Service, U.N.K.L.E., and Phantogram. His releases balance IDM’s intellectual curiosity with the emotional resonance of ambient and prog-influenced electronica, creating soundscapes suited for film, television, and interactive media. Critics liken his work to Jon Hopkins and Nils Frahm, while listeners may also detect echoes of Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, and Squarepusher.
The original “Adrenaline Slip” navigates shifting rhythms, pulsing synths, and flickering layers to move from airy chillout passages to dark, intense IDM climaxes. µ‑Ziq’s remix expands the track into a vast, wintery reinterpretation. Hypnotic tambourine, breakbeats, and expansive atmospherics recall the wall-of-sound textures of 90s shoegaze, while remaining grounded in IDM’s intricate electronic architecture.

µ‑Ziq shared on the remix process: “The starting point for my remix of ‘Adrenaline Slip’ was one of the stems, an Alchemy patch which sounds like a distorted electric guitar. I processed and cut it up, adding a breakbeat and tried to make it all a bit dreamy and smeared, inspired by 90s shoegaze bands like MBV and early Swervedriver.”
Fans of IDM, experimental electronica, and 90s-inspired sonic textures can expect µ‑Ziq’s remix of “Adrenaline Slip” to push the original into uncharted, hypnotic territory when it arrives November 7, 2025 on LLC Records.
