Australian producer 44 Ardent continues his prolific 2025 streak with “Who Do You Think That You Are?” — a lush and introspective new single that follows recent releases “Curtain Call,” “Wake Up,” and “Hold On (Forever),” all building toward his forthcoming EP due this December.
Blending emotional depth with cinematic precision, “Who Do You Think That You Are?” showcases 44 Ardent’s signature fusion of dance, house, and ambient electronica. The track unfolds through hypnotic vocal chants, glimmering synth layers, and finely tuned 808s, crafting an immersive, transportive soundscape that balances movement with meditation.
“This song samples a really cool cinematic track that I found when I was browsing the internet for interesting sounds,” shares 44 Ardent. “When I hit a creative block, I’ll look for the first sample that grabs me and make something from it with zero expectations. Most of those ideas never see the light of day, but every now and then one slips through the cracks. I really like how the chants blend with the synths — it took a while to get the 808s to sit right, but we got there in the end.”
Reflecting on the song’s title, he adds, “It’s mostly unrelated to the track itself, but I was thinking about personal identity and how we perceive ourselves — that’s probably why this title came to mind when I first saved the song.”
Inspired by artists like Tourist, Caribou, and Jamie xx, 44 Ardent continues to shape a distinct sonic identity within Australia’s electronic scene — one that fuses emotional resonance with dancefloor-ready production.
