“I drew a lot of inspiration from the underground club scene,” Polar Youth explains. “One night, I went out to a heavy techno party, came home buzzing with ideas, and started ‘Dat Boi.’ I wanted a drop that felt intense, hypnotic, and a little off-kilter—the weirdest in the best way.”
A self-taught multi-instrumentalist from Ghent, Polar Youth first gained recognition after winning Red Bull Elektropedia’s ‘Most Promising Artist’ award in 2014. Since then, she’s collaborated with DJ Fresh, remixed artists including TOKiMONSTA and Flux Pavilion, and released on labels like Circus Records, mau5trap, Young Art Records, and LOVE CLVB, earning praise from tastemakers such as A-Trak, SHOSH, and Soulecta.
