Electronic music producer and DJ Player Dave (Charles Sahm) returns with his most immersive and emotionally charged project yet, the Heartbeat EP, out now via Daisy Chain Recordings. Across four tracks, Player Dave captures his evolution from heavy electronic roots into a more refined, dance-driven sound — one that blends garage and breakbeat rhythms with atmospheric textures, striking a balance between introspection and raw energy.
The EP opens with “Heartbeat” featuring Elohim, a luminous collaboration that pairs her soaring vocals with kaleidoscopic synths and rolling percussion. Her lyrics — “When you touch me, I can feel my heart beat faster than lightning” — embody the rush of vulnerability in love, while Player Dave’s vivid production bursts with emotional color. The journey continues through the hypnotic, bass-driven “v@por”, the soulful “Microjoy” featuring canary yellow and Allegra Miles, and closes with “the way you want me”, a second collaboration with Elohim that delves into late-night vulnerability and emotional release.
Speaking on the lead single, Player Dave shares, “Elohim sent me a vocal that instantly lit a spark — I built the instrumental around it, and it became one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. It set the tone for the whole project, carrying the same weight in an intimate listen as it does on a dancefloor.”
Since launching his project in 2018, Player Dave has carved a distinct lane within the experimental dance space. His debut album, Where the Wind Blew Me, and a series of standout singles featuring Georgie O’Brien, JAWNZA, and Elohim showcased his ability to fuse emotional depth with forward-thinking production. On stage, he’s earned acclaim for his dynamic performances, recently joining Jacques Greene and Nosaj Thing on tour and gearing up for multiple headlining U.S. dates following the EP’s release.
A fixture at festivals like Coachella, HARD Summer, III Points, Okeechobee, EDSEA, Bass Coast, and Shambhala, Player Dave has performed alongside visionaries including Joy Orbison, Sammy Virji, Sara Landry, and Skee Mask. He’s also headlined venues such as Elsewhere (NYC), The Ground (Miami), and Spin (San Diego).
Beyond his artistry, Player Dave founded Daisy Chain Recordings, a label and party series celebrating eclectic club music across the U.S. In 2025, Daisy Chain reached a major milestone with a full label takeover at Lightning in a Bottle, marking Player Dave’s third consecutive year performing at the iconic festival.
