Fresh off the success of his recent singles “Curtain Call” and “Wake Up,” Australian producer 44 Ardent returns with another captivating release — “Hold On (Forever),” the latest chapter in a steady flow of new music set to unfold over the coming months.

Merging elements of dance, house, and UKG, 44 Ardent crafts a sound that feels both expansive and deeply intimate, drawing inspiration from artists like Caribou, Jamie xx, and Tourist. At its core, “Hold On (Forever)” is anchored by a towering, emotionally charged drop — a defining trait rooted in 44 Ardent’s formative years during the SoundCloud era.

“I’ve always loved a big, emotional, wall-of-sound drop with lots of elements and complexity,” 44 Ardent explains. “Back then, people would literally scan the waveform and skip straight to the drop, so artists put a lot of energy into making that first moment hit hard. These days, it feels like hooks at the very start are more important, but for me, old habits die hard.”

Lyrically, the track delves into the complexities of human interaction, with vivid lines like “cold iron, hot brand” capturing the sting of hurtful words. “It’s about how words can be painful,” he shares. “At the time, I was thinking about how needlessly nasty humans can be to one another.”

With “Hold On (Forever),” 44 Ardent strikes a powerful balance between euphoria and vulnerability — an emotional hallmark that continues to define his ever-evolving sound.
