Hostage Situation Unleash Sophomore Album Hostile Frequencies and National Tour

Denver-based electronic trio Hostage Situation mark a career-defining moment with the release of their sophomore album Hostile Frequencies—a 20-track opus that cements their transformation from local heroes to nationally recognized headliners. Out now, the project delivers a full-spectrum sonic journey that embodies the group’s signature “crowd hostage” artistry.

Hostile Frequencies operates as both manifesto and showcase, weaving together the heavy dubstep and riddim foundations that first put Hostage Situation on the map with emotionally driven cuts and bass house explorations that highlight their evolution. The record builds on the momentum of their successful single campaign, which included “Burn For You,” “The Device,” and “Panic Attack,” while unveiling 17 brand-new compositions that expand their creative universe.

Standout collaborations include “Problem” featuring Dream Takers and Fraxure, and “Skoolin” with Chibs—alongside festival-primed anthems like “Freak It” and “GO NUTZ.” On the flip side, the vocal-driven “Seen It All (Feat. MACY)” and club-ready “Dancefloor Fire” showcase the trio’s ability to blur genre lines without losing their heavy-hitting roots.

“This album represents everything we’ve been working toward since we formed in 2021,” the trio explain. “We wanted to create an experience that goes beyond just dubstep or riddim—something that shows the full range of what Hostage Situation can be.”

Influenced by artists ranging from M83 and Pink Floyd to Subtronics, the trio’s eclectic approach sets Hostile Frequencies apart from the crowded bass landscape. The atmospheric title track and contemplative closer “The End” bookend the record, underscoring the album’s immersive, narrative-driven arc.

The album drops as Hostage Situation continues their extensive Hostile Frequencies Tour, which launched in August with a sold-out kickoff in Columbus, OH. Since then, the trio have captivated audiences across Harrisburg, Fort Collins, Boulder, and delivered a standout festival set at DANCEFESTOPIA. Recent Midwest stops in Minneapolis and Rochester teased the new tracks to roaring crowds ahead of the release.

The tour now pushes into the West Coast with shows in Seattle and San Francisco, before moving through major markets including Las Vegas, Toronto, Detroit, and Philadelphia through December. Venues include VICE (Seattle), Gods & Monsters (San Francisco), Palais Royale (Toronto), and Warehouse on Watts (Philadelphia). Support comes from Big Blok, Brondo, Decadon, Fraxure, Joust, Mile32, Mongrel, Noetika, Twopercent, and ZL.

Since their formation in 2021, Hostage Situation have built a formidable reputation with sold-out headline shows at The Black Box, Meow Wolf Denver, and The Gothic Theatre, as well as festival appearances at Global Dance Festival, Supernatural Festival, Decadence NYE Colorado, and Forbidden Kingdom.

Hostile Frequencies is both culmination and declaration—an album that solidifies Hostage Situation as one of the most exciting and innovative new forces in bass music. With their relentless live energy and boundary-pushing productions, the trio are no longer just rising stars—they’re headliners ready to dominate the national stage.
