French-Congolese producer/DJ KARABA has released her dynamic Tides (Remixes) EP via ONErpm, offering eight fresh reinterpretations of her acclaimed original tracks. The collection features contributions from rising and established producers, including South African producer 40D, Limpopo-born beatmaker Afro Exotiq, Zimbabwean musician Bantu, German-Nigerian DJ JAMIIE, Johannesburg-based producer Unique Paballo, and Moroccan native Walid Martinez. The EP also includes two exclusive bonus remixes: Carpotxa from Mozambique (available on Beatport) and Cameroonian-born creator KMNI (available on SoundCloud).
With this remix EP, KARABA steps into the role of curator, bringing together a global network of Afro-rooted talent to expand her sonic vision. Each contributor infuses their own cultural perspective, blending Afro Tech, Afro House, and Melodic Afro to reframe the Tides concept through a collective Afro fusion dialogue. Highlights include Bantu’s deep, percussive reinterpretation of “Into The Sea”, Afro Exotiq’s hypnotic restructuring of “Surfacing”, and JAMIIE’s atmospheric rework of “Siren”. Unique Paballo delivers a driving and dark take on “Dark Waters”, while Walid Martinez offers a textured blend of North African influences and club-ready energy.
KARABA reflects: “Since releasing my Tides EP in June, I’ve carefully selected producers whose sound I admire and whose approach to music inspires me, to reinterpret each track. The Tides remix project brings fresh perspectives, the same energy, and a journey through the depths of Afro house and tech.”
The Tides (Remixes) EP further cements KARABA’s role as a tastemaker in Afro-inspired electronic music. By curating a lineup that spans continents, styles, and diasporas, she reinforces Afro fusion as not just a sound but a global movement.
French-born, Quebec-raised, KARABA is redefining the underground. Formerly a professional dancer touring with Drake, Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, and Chris Brown, she has seamlessly translated her deep understanding of rhythm and movement to the DJ booth. Her breakthrough track “Mad Mess” earned her a Juno Award nomination in 2024 for Underground Dance Single of the Year.
2025 has seen KARABA continue shaping the Afro house landscape following her acclaimed Tides EP. From landing on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Canada to performing at Boiler Room and EDC Las Vegas’ first-ever UBUNTU stage, she has cemented her role as a cultural bridge and a leading voice in the global dance movement.
KARABA’s Tides (Remixes) EP is available now on all platforms.
