Sacha Robotti continues his genre-defying journey with the release of his latest single, “The Flood,” a collaboration with legendary producer Blakkat, out now as part of Dirtybird’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Equal parts garage and deep house, “The Flood” is all groove. Built on a hypnotic framework of rhythm and atmosphere, the track provides the perfect backdrop for Blakkat’s dreamy, soulful vocals. The chemistry between the two artists radiates with emotion and perspective, while remaining firmly rooted in club culture and dancefloor momentum. As the second single from I, Robotti, the release further illustrates Sacha’s ability to fluidly move between moods and styles, a hallmark of his career.
A Berlin-bred nomad, Sacha Robotti has carved out a two-decade legacy in underground dance music through his solo project, his Slothacid imprint, and as half of Third Culture. A consistent force on the Dirtybird roster, his history with the label includes the Loca Lola EP (2014), Melato Nina EP (2017), and collaborations with Kevin Knapp and Kill Frenzy. In 2023, he headlined the inaugural Back To Baysics at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Plaza and released “Roll With Me” with Pershard Owens. More recently, Sacha launched the I, Robotti era with “Say It” featuring Victoria Rawlins, paired with standout sets at Dirtybird Campout and CampINN.
With a career spanning over three decades, Blakkat has long been a driving force in electronic music. From winning a Mercury Prize with M People, to delivering remixes for New Order, A Tribe Called Quest, and Chaka Khan, his artistry bridges underground credibility with crossover appeal. His collaborations with pioneers like Marshall Jefferson and David Morales, alongside releases on Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations, and Defected, cement his reputation as one of house music’s most versatile and enduring figures.
