After years of anticipation, Kasablanca has officially announced the release of their debut album, Higher Resolution, arriving November 21. The Toronto-based duo has spent the past five years climbing the ranks of global dance music, turning heads with their cinematic sound, viral performances, and electrifying live shows.
Launching into the spotlight in 2020, Kasablanca struck gold early with their breakout hit “Run” alongside Lane 8, now boasting over 40 million streams. Their debut Human Learning EP that same year further cemented their reputation as innovators in melodic house and techno. Known for their enthralling live performances, the duo has captivated audiences at world-class stages such as Printworks, Coachella, Red Rocks, Carnival in Brazil, and The Gorge.
Their music has resonated far beyond festival grounds, earning airplay on BBC Radio 1, SiriusXM, and countless stations across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Social media has also played a pivotal role in their rise, with their viral covers of throwback dance anthems by Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, and The Prodigy racking up tens of millions of views.
In 2023, Kasablanca embarked on their first-ever sold-out headline tour, playing legendary rock venues across North America. But the year also brought challenges: frontman Micky revealed his cancer diagnosis, leading to a temporary hiatus. In a triumphant return, the duo debuted their new track “Remission” live at Ultra Music Festival stops in Miami, Chile, and Peru—celebrating Micky’s cancer-free recovery.
Since then, Kasablanca has only accelerated their momentum. Over the past year, they’ve released multiple singles, dropped the first half of Higher Resolution, and played more than 40 shows worldwide—over 20 of them as sold-out headlines—doubling their fanbase in the process.
An album years in the making, Higher Resolution is designed in two halves. Side A, released in October 2024, showcased the duo’s eclectic influences, spanning club-ready anthems to cinematic, introspective cuts. Now, fans are finally getting Side B, which includes some of the duo’s most anticipated IDs. The campaign kicks off with the long-awaited single “Audio Machina,” a track first teased in their live sets more than two years ago, and “Television,” another fan-favorite that has electrified audiences for years.
With its mix of viral hits, unreleased gems, and genre-bending production, Higher Resolution reflects the creative evolution of Micky and Viktor Kasablanca. Physical copies are available for pre-order now, and the duo has no plans to slow down, with more tour dates scheduled through the end of the year. Fans can find details about upcoming shows HERE.
