Lisbon-based duo MXGPU, comprising Portuguese electronic innovator Moullinex and singer/producer GPU Panic, today release their latest single “slow down” via Discotexas. The track arrives ahead of their collaborative debut album Sudden Light, set for 26th September.

Following their previous pop–drum & bass single “find u,” which explored a different sonic palette, MXGPU return to their signature style on “slow down,” a melodic, slow-burning dance meditation. Guided by the mantra “slow down to make a mark,” the track captures the fragile moment before impact, when clarity pierces through the noise. Echoing the intimacy that defines their 360° live shows, the single is deliberate and emotionally resonant, with every analog synth carefully sculpted to convey raw feeling.

MXGPU describe the track: “There’s a pause, and time stands still. Your focus peaks, you can hear your own heart beating. When all you hear is shouting, a whispered voice will stand out. When everything feels rushed, it’s time to take it easy. Slow down, slow down to make a mark.”

The project emerged from a deepening creative connection between Moullinex and GPU Panic, following the latter’s integration into Moullinex’s live band. Their collaboration unlocked rare chemistry, turning long-standing creative roadblocks into spontaneous, emotionally raw songwriting. MXGPU quickly became a platform for both artists to push beyond comfort zones and explore a more visceral musical expression.

Their live shows reflect this ethos: intimate, immersive, and performed in the round, with GPU Panic’s vocals at the forefront, cutting through a rich instrumental wall. Complementing the music is a custom-built stage environment featuring sci-fi visuals, James Turrell–inspired lighting, and a hardware setup of Moog, Arturia, Teenage Engineering, and Dreadbox, where analog textures, improvisation, and visual storytelling converge.

MXGPU’s 2025 tour continues with summer dates across Portugal, including festivals and clubs in Lisbon, Porto, and Guimarães, and marks a major milestone with their first-ever U.S. performances in Brooklyn and Los Angeles this October.
