HEYZ, the irreverent bass maestro based in Denver, is turning up the pressure this summer with his latest four-track offering, HEYZ’D and Confused, landing August 1 on Bassrush Records. Known for his gut-punching basslines, sharp-witted persona, and a sound that refuses to be boxed in, this new EP signals a bold new chapter in the evolution of the HEYZ project.

Describing the EP’s chaotic charm, HEYZ explains, “‘HEYZ’D and Confused’ is exactly how I feel 90 percent of the time. It’s my favorite kind of chaos—fun, unpredictable, a little unhinged, but it still hits you right in the soul. This EP is me pushing my sound further and opening a new era. If I could bottle up the feeling of getting immersed at a show with your favorite people, this would be it.

Leading the charge is the title track “HEYZ’D and Confused”, a hypnotic descent into cinematic dubstep. Opening with eerie piano melodies and lo-fi narration, the song quickly unravels into ragga-drenched bass and distorted groove, capturing the disorientation and excitement of being fully lost in the music. It’s a bold artistic statement that defines the tone of the EP.

Also featured is the previously released single “Onomono”, featuring Pennsylvania lyricist Dubbygotbars. Blending snarling hip-hop with precision-engineered bass drops, the track has already gained support from The Daily Frequency, Moon Lvnding, and EDM Identity, highlighting HEYZ’s ability to merge rap grit with dubstep chaos.

The EP’s third track, “Demons”, brings high-octane energy through fierce rap vocals layered over ragga-tinged rhythms. Pulsing bass and warped sonic textures create a relentless listening experience, reflecting HEYZ’s taste for aggressive sound design and raw emotional delivery.

Closing things out is “Fantasy”, a psychedelic slow-burn anchored by ghostly female vocals and droning low-end. Drenched in atmospheric swirls and off-kilter percussion, it’s a mesmerizing conclusion that showcases the deeper, more introspective side of HEYZ’s creative range.

Hailing originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, HEYZ has evolved from his early mau5trap techno roots into a genre-defying bass music force. Along the way, he’s earned releases on heavyweight labels like Circus Records, Bite This, Lowly, and Deadbeats, while building a loyal following through his viral, self-aware social media presence.

Riding the wave of last year’s Lost in the HEYZ EP and breakout single “Coming Up (Like That)”—which boasts over 1.3 million streams and live support from Liquid StrangerHEYZ is hitting the road for his HEYZ’D and Confused Tour. The trek will include marquee festival appearances at Lost Lands, Wobbleland, and Dancefestopia, plus club dates in New York City, Dallas, Knoxville, and more.

With HEYZ’D and Confused, HEYZ proves once again that bass music doesn’t have to follow rules—it just has to slap. Equal parts chaos and craft, this project is a thrill ride through the unpredictable world of one of bass music’s most original voices.
