Sammy Virji returns with another genre-bending anthem, teaming up with UK bass powerhouse Champion and formidable vocalist IRAH for the explosive new single “Dis Badman,” landing July 25. The track is the latest preview from Sammy’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Same Day Cleaning, slated for release on September 19.

Co-produced with the legendary Champion, “Dis Badman” blends deep UK basslines with fierce energy and underground finesse. A pioneer of UK Funky, Champion is currently experiencing a major resurgence, known for club destroyers like “Hot In Here” (also with Sammy Virji) and “Talk To Me” alongside Four Tet, Skrillex, and Naisha. A favorite collaborator of Four Tet, Champion has recently appeared at marquee events including the DRUMSHEDS takeover and Four Tet & Friends NYC.

Adding fire to the track is IRAH, a commanding voice in the UK underground and known for his conscious lyricism rooted in sound system culture. With standout collaborations including “Baddadan” with Chase & Status (a Top 5 UK single), IRAH brings unmatched intensity and raw emotion to every performance. He’s worked with boundary-pushing artists like Flowdan, The Bug, and Mala, making him a true force in both drum & bass and bass music at large.

Dis Badman” follows a run of high-profile singles from Same Day Cleaning, including “Nostalgia” featuring Issey Cross, and May’s breakout “Cops & Robbers” with Skepta, which became Sammy Virji’s first UK Top 40 hit. The track became a viral moment during Skepta’s Glastonbury set on the Other Stage, broadcast live on BBC One, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Widely regarded as a key figure in the UKG revival, Sammy Virji continues to push boundaries with his signature fusion of garage swing and bass-driven energy. The London-based producer and DJ was nominated for Best Producer at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards 2023 and has been dominating stages worldwide. Highlights from his jam-packed summer include a surprise pop-up in Times Square, a stadium debut at Forest Hills, and massive sets at Hideout, Mad Cool, NOS Alive, Tomorrowland, and Ibiza’s futuristic hyperclub UNVRS.

With “Dis Badman,” Sammy Virji stakes yet another claim as one of the most exciting and innovative producers in UK dance music. The single is out Thursday, July 25, on all major platforms.
