“‘Real World’ is a collection of sounds that soundtrack growing slowly,” says noise. dept. “Around the time of writing and producing this song, I was going through many changes in my life. It’s about avoiding the illusions we may believe to be true—illusions we may have grown up with—and in that time, I felt like I was hearing and seeing the ‘real world’ for the first time.”
The radio edit of “Real World” showcases the artist’s genre-fluid vision with lush vocal layers, emotive piano melodies, and stripped-back 2-step drums.
