Today, electronic and indie music trailblazers Red Axes return with their latest single, “Home ‘La La La’,” out now on all streaming platforms. With this bold new release, the duo lean into a raw, guitar-driven sound that merges punk, indie, and rock with their signature underground energy.
Known for their genre-defying artistry and fearless experimentation, Red Axes—the Tel Aviv-based duo of childhood friends Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik—continue to push boundaries with every release. On “Home ‘La La La’,” they draw sonic inspiration from acts like Viagra Boys, Warmduscher, Amyl and the Sniffers, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, channeling a gritty, unfiltered energy that marks a thrilling evolution in their sound.
“This track wrote itself,” the band explains. “We had this line stuck in our heads, like someone crying at an afterparty but also kind of enjoying it. We looped it, added some energy, and let it ride the edge between collapse and euphoria.”
“Home ‘La La La’” captures that disorienting, emotional haze at the end of a long night—the kind where the music’s still pounding, your body’s fading, and your mind drifts between conversations and inner chaos. It’s a visceral, honest moment transformed into a sonic journey that fuses the rawness of live instrumentation with the pulse of global club culture.
Formed in the mid-2000s after years playing in the psychedelic rock band Red Cotton, Red Axes emerged as a standout voice in electronic music following a transformative period living and producing in Amsterdam. Since 2010, they’ve delivered a prolific catalog including EPs, hundreds of remixes, and collaborations across influential labels like Phantasy, Life & Death, !K7, Correspondant, Shall Not Fade, and Crosstown Rebels.
Their live prowess has taken them from underground warehouses to some of the world’s most iconic stages, including Coachella, Glastonbury, Sónar, Primavera, Burning Man, Berghain, and DC-10. Over the course of four critically acclaimed albums—Ballad of the Ice (2014), The Beach Goths (2017), Red Axes (2020), and One More City (2023)—they’ve navigated through indie-dance, house, techno, post-punk, and new wave.
With “Home ‘La La La’,” Red Axes return to their roots, embracing the unpolished power of guitars and drums while filtering it through the lens of 15 years spent shaping the global electronic scene. The result is a bold, new chapter that’s equal parts nostalgic and forward-looking.
